Both normal university and Huda are built at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. When the normal university goes to Xiangjiang River, there will be a small street which is basically parallel to Xiangjiang River. The local people call it degenerate Street (now officially renamed Lushan commercial civilization Street). On both sides of the street are mainly small hotels, dilapidated but low rent dwellings, as well as characteristic small restaurants with various snacks. There are snacks of various flavors here. When you walk down the degenerate street, the whole street is full of all kinds of food, which is very cheap. Every stall is full of students. There are also numerous places like hairstyle houses, audio-visual shops, boutiques, grocery stores, Internet cafes, KTVs and other places that students like. The prices are very cheap. There are many students renting houses here, and the street is always more lively than the campus.

"Degenerate Street" was first called loukou. In 1994, it was only a road leading to the Xiangjiang River, with ditches on both sides and no entertainment facilities. Since 1995, some college students with economic brains have started to open Internet cafes (in fact, they are game bars, playing doom 2 and CC 2 online), and then local farmers follow suit and open karaoke, video halls, dance halls, billiards rooms, and restaurants at most.

In 1998, Luo Xuhui, a reporter of China Youth Daily in Changsha, whose girlfriend is an adult student of Hunan University, was punished by the school for her poor academic performance and frequent violations of some trivial school rules (at that time, the school was strictly controlled, and if she didn't go to bed on time, she might give a serious warning, and even be detained for observation if she played cards with cigarettes!) On October 23, 1998, the leaders of Hunan University negotiated with China Youth Daily. On October 28, 1998, China Youth Daily issued a statement of apology to Hunan University on the front page and fired the reporter who wrote the news.

However, since then, the "degenerate Street" has become famous. In 1999, the "commercial civilization Street" between Hunan University and Hunan Normal University was called "degenerate Second Street". With the gradual increase of students in the two schools (enrollment expansion), the two streets have become increasingly prosperous, and many entertainment and catering places have emerged. In fact, this is available in all universities, but because Hunan University and Hunan Normal University have no walls, they can not be completely isolated from such commercial streets, so they are regarded as part of Hunan University. In fact, these two streets are owned by local farmers.

Pailoukou was finally expropriated by Hunan University as its industry in 2003. Then it was completely reconstructed in 2008. In 2009, the whole pailoukou (the so-called "degenerate Street") was completely demolished, becoming a graduate building on one side and a green belt on the other. It is planned by Changsha City as a part of Hexi pilot area.

In fact, the degenerate street is a short street from Xiangjiang's lover island to Huda's student dormitories (8, 9 houses). It is neither spacious nor beautiful, but the street is crowded with restaurants, singing halls and wine, as well as thousands of college students. When the car that bought Xi'an Liangpi was pushed out, the crowd with schoolbags came by in twos and threes, and the streetlights lit up one by one, the degenerate Street would open. Its dilapidated appearance was exquisite and gorgeous.

I always go to degenerate street to eat, because it's delicious and cheap.

Later, I ate all over Nanmenkou, a famous night street in Changsha, but I still thought it was not as delicious as this one. There's a lot of stress in eating shrimp. I remember there was an article on how to eat shrimp in Changsha Evening News. But here, just wash your hands first and start from left to right. The shopkeeper will put a roll of paper on each table considerately. Throughout the summer (from May to September), the night of the fallen street is filled with the taste of shrimp and spicy flavor.

There are boys and girls sitting on the stage with guitar in their arms. The light is dim. You can't see their faces when you sit here. They just suddenly sing. The sound of the wooden guitar and their simple singing will penetrate the noisy crowd and reach the deepest part of your heart. You can also order songs for free. I ordered "the original me" once, and the song almost made me cry.

Boys can play more, including billiards, video games, badminton and table tennis. Later, I found that more and more girls play these games. Even I learned to play billiards in this street. In the shabby basement, a group of people play with relish.

The degenerate street in the daytime is a desert. Most of the shops are closed and there are few people on the street. But I like the degenerate street in the daytime, especially in the afternoon.

In the hot weather, a lot of sunshine sprinkles on the street. There are tall trees on both sides of the street, and the leaves don't move. It's seldom windy in Changsha during the day.

I like to stay in the audio-visual shop at the corner of the street, because there is an air conditioner inside. If you buy a bottle of Mirinda, you can spend more than two hours there. You can turn VCDs one by one and read the name of each song carefully. You can hear the latest popular songs while you open them. If you ask the owner about the VCD that the owner has not found, you will get a satisfying answer.

There is too laggy street in the deep part of the street. It is a long, narrow street that has a long cartoon. If you enter the elephant trunk mouth, you even enter the hinterland of the fallen street. There are countless houses on the hillside covered by green trees, in which there are many mysterious boys and girls.

There is a big Sophora tree near the intersection of xiangbizui, that is, the one mentioned above. It is the shadiest place in the whole street. If you wait for someone, it will usually be under that tree.

If you go further, you will arrive at the edge of the Xiangjiang River, where kites are sold all year round. The water of Xiangjiang River will recede a lot in autumn, revealing a large open space in the middle of the river. We call it lover island. We had a barbecue on it.
