Fengxian Museum
Fengxian Museum, located at No.7 Jiefang West Road, Fengxian city, Jiangsu Province, was founded in 1983, with Dacheng Hall of Confucian temple as the main building.
According to records, the Dacheng Hall of the Confucian temple was first built in 1560, with a history of more than 400 years. Fengxian Museum Planning Museum is located in the north of Nanyuan Road, the west of Fengyi Avenue and the south of Tonghui Road, with a land area of 102.25 mu. The plot is planned to be a five storey building with a north-south direction, and the museum and Planning Museum are considered inside. The total construction area is 32656 square meters (including 6773 square meters of underground construction area), including 25883 square meters of floor area ratio.
Development history
Before the establishment of the museum, the cultural and museum work of the county was managed by Fengxian cultural center.
After its establishment in November 1983, the cultural museum transferred its cultural relics and cultural relics to Fengxian Museum, which is subordinate to Fengxian Cultural Bureau.
Fengxian museum was rebuilt with the original temple. Dacheng hall rebuilt in Ming Dynasty is located in the center of the hall. The hall is 19 meters wide with 5 rooms, 9 purlins and 12.2 meters deep. It has a yellow simple tile roof, 24 Phoebe gold pillars, external eaves and brackets, painted and painted. The gate of the pavilion is a painted arch gate, and the East and West Wing rooms and exhibition rooms at the back of the hall are all antique buildings. The Museum covers an area of 3500 square meters and a building area of 982 square meters.
Collection
The Dacheng hall and the East and West Wing houses display 550 pieces of cultural relics from the Neolithic period to the Qing Dynasty, most of which are Han Dynasty cultural relics unearthed from Huashan Han Tombs in Fengxian County. 364 pieces of folk cultural relics collected in the past two years are displayed in the exhibition room at the back of the hall, reflecting the local customs of clothing, food, housing, transportation, festivities and ceremonies. At the same time, nearly 100 production tools of textile and other industries were also displayed. The textile hall displayed the whole process of hand weaving from nearly 20 processes, such as ginning, wadding, spinning, winding, warp knitting and weaving. There is a temporary exhibition hall in the museum, which is used to receive foreign exchange exhibitions and hold various local temporary exhibitions. In addition, more than 60 Han Dynasty stone reliefs and ancient stone carvings are still scattered in the courtyard.
There are more than 1600 cultural relics in the collection, some of which reflect the birth of Liu Bang, the uprising and the reproduction of his family. And hundreds of folk cultural relics reflect the distinctive characteristics of local culture.
