Pu-yan-shiang
Puyan township is located in the west of the center of Zhanghua County, adjacent to Dacun Township and Xiushui Township in the East, Erlin town and Fangyuan across the old chuoshui River in the west, Xihu town in the south, Fuxing Township in the north, Dalian village and Puxin Township in the West.
brief introduction
Puyan township is located in the middle of Changhua County, Taiwan. Before the development of Puyan Township, it was a wild grassland. It was the residential area of the Pingpu "babusar" mazhilin community. About 300 years ago, the ancestors came to the township from Quanzhou, Fujian Province to reclaim the land. At that time, the ground was covered by the salt tolerant plant "puyanjing". It was cold and dry in winter, and the salt content rose to the ground with the water, showing a unique scene of white everywhere Therefore, the place name is taken as "Puyan".
Evolution of organizational system
In the past, the area belonged to the mazhilin community of babuza, Pingpu nationality. Today, the ancient place name of "fantongpu" (Yongping Village) still exists. Han immigrants from Yongzheng to Qianlong years into the reclamation, the second reclamation into the countryside to create villages.
During the reign of Yongzheng, Puyan township was under the jurisdiction of mazhilinbao and erlinbao in Zhanghua county.
During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, it was renamed mazhibao and erlinshangbao.
In 1887 (the 13th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), it belonged to mazhibao and erlinshangbao in Changhua County, Taiwan,
In 1895, it was changed to Taiwan County (later changed to Taiwan Civil Affairs Branch), and Zhanghua had its mazhibao and erlinshangbao.
In 1897, it was changed into mazhibao and erlinshangbao of Lukang Office of Taichung County.
In 1920 (the ninth year of Japanese Taichung), a large-scale reform of the local official system was carried out, and it was changed to puyanzhuang, Yuanlin County, Central Taiwan.
At the end of 1945, it was transferred to Puyan Township, Yuanlin District, Taichung County.
In 1950, the district office was abolished and changed to Puyan Township, Changhua County.
