Emei Lake
Emei lake, also known as the Dapu reservoir, is dammed along the Emei river. The dam is located at the junction of Hsinchu and Miaoli in Taiwan. The water storage area extends several kilometers from Emei. The reservoir was built in 1960 and put into operation in January of the following year. It was built by the early Chinese in northern China to intercept water resources and supply farmland irrigation. The irrigation areas include Hsinchu Xiangshan, Baoshan, Miaoli zhunantoufen, etc. The initial effective water storage is 7.88 million cubic meters. In recent years, due to sedimentation, the water storage has been reduced to 5 million cubic meters.
Basic summary
Emei Lake (Dapu reservoir) - quiet green as a mirror, white gulls straighten their wings.
In recent years, because of the excellent water quality, the reservoir was once covered with bougainvillea. However, under the spontaneous clearance movement of nearby villagers and ataogo, the sewage discharged into the reservoir was purified by ecological filtration. Emei lake has restored its former elegant appearance and become a valuable tourism resource in Emei township. Emei lake has beautiful scenery, beautiful mountains and rivers. Egrets live here in groups. The lake is as quiet and green as a mirror, and the figure of white birds is often mistaken for a fairyland. Because of the limited development of the catchment area, it also creates rich ecological resources here.
There is a wooden stack trail beside the lake. When you walk, you can enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountain. Whether it's the shimmering light when it's sunny, or the misty rain when it's rainy, the picturesque beauty can make you feel the heat completely disappear even when you come to visit in hot summer. There are several suspension bridges on the lake, among which ximaopu suspension bridge is more famous. The lake and suspension bridge always complement each other in the scenery.
Nearby, there are Maitreya Avenue courtyard, Shifang Zen forest and other temples, which make people feel like entering a cool and precious place. It means that the nearby Emei lake is really beautiful and suitable for cultivating their mind here. Among them, Maitreya Avenue courtyard has built a 72 meter high Maitreya Buddha statue in the lake area, which is the largest Maitreya Buddha statue in Southeast Asia. We can see the tall figure of Maitreya Buddha on the banks of Emei lake. Although such a tall building has the effect of landmark, it is not compatible with the natural beauty and has a long-term impact on the environment.
