Yongheshan reservoir

Yongheshan reservoir is located between Toufen town in Miaoli County and Yonghe village in Sanwan township. It is the first reservoir without water gate and sluice in Taiwan! It was built in 1980 and opened in 1984.

Basic introduction

The reservoir is a rolling earth dam with a catchment area of 4.8 square kilometers, a total water storage capacity of 29580000 cubic meters, a crest elevation of 89.50 meters, a maximum dam height of 62.50 meters, a crest length of 340 meters, a crest width of 12 meters, and a dam volume of 1498000 cubic meters. The water source is mainly from the mainstream Zhonggang River and the branch beikenggou River, which supplies water for residents and farmland irrigation in Zhunan, Toufen, ZhuangQiao and other places.

From the top of the dam, you can enjoy the scenery of the reservoir with mountains and rivers. It is full of Meteorology and always teaches people to stop and linger. In the temple beside the reservoir, there are 27 landlords who moved here because of the construction of the reservoir, which is really rare.

There is yongheshan farm by the road around the lake in the southeast of the reservoir. The farm raises all kinds of chickens and ducks. If time permits, you can visit it by the way. It is a scenic spot suitable for parents and children to visit together.

Self driving:

1. "National highway" No.1: under the Toufen interchange → go straight along Zhongzheng road → turn left to Dongxing Road → about 2km after Dongxing bridge → meet the fork road → go straight.

2. "National highway" No.1: after getting off the expressway from the west side of Toufen interchange, turn left and then go to Xianhui road → about 1km ahead, turn left (Toufen branch on the left) → about 600m ahead, turn right (to the red arc bridge on the right) → go to the end, turn left and then go to No.1 company. Public transport:

Take the Miaoli passenger bus from Toufen to Toufen and get off at Toufen, or take the Miaoli passenger bus to yongheshan reservoir and get off at yongheshan reservoir station.
