The length of the great wall repair project at Hefangkou section in Huairou District of Beijing is about 3.5 km, including 25 enemy towers and platforms. The reinforcement project of the 1570m Great Wall in the east section of Hefangkou section has been completed by the end of 2011, and the repair project of the 1800m Great Wall in the remaining west section has been completed by the end of 2012.

After the restoration of huairouming Great Wall, in order to protect the Great Wall from man-made damage, visitors will be forbidden to climb. Therefore, visitors can only see from a distance, not climb the city. However, a 400 meter long plank road will be built between No. 37 and No. 39 enemy towers in the west section of jiabianlou, the great wall of Ming Dynasty. The plank road will be built into a footpath. It is only two meters away from the nearest part of the Great Wall, where visitors can enjoy the Great Wall at a close distance. After the opening of the plank road, the best view for tourists walking on the plank road is No. 40 enemy building, also known as jiabian building.
