Changzhou Theater
Cheung Chau theatre is one of the pre war theatres in Hong Kong. It has already closed down, but the buildings have not been demolished yet. However, it has been abandoned for a long time. The central roof of the theatre was damaged by wind and rain, and a large skylight was opened.
Cheung Chau theatre is located on Cheung Chau Island, an outlying island of Hong Kong. The building is two stories high, with a projection room on the second floor. Changzhou theater covers an area of more than 30000 square feet, which is a Chinese eclectic architectural style. The theater is equipped with dozens of fixed folding chairs, painted in dark green, and a white screen is hung on the stage. The original goods were bought by the owner (Yao Sheng) from abroad. He read the manual and installed them by himself. Cheung Chau theatre is now a private property. After the completion of the business, the ownership has been transferred. Changzhou theater was opened in 1931 in the era of silent black and white films. At that time, there were on-site voice tellers in Changzhou theater. In the early days, the ticket price of Cheung Chau theater was HK $10. In the 1990s, it was HK $20 per ticket, and the maximum charge was HK $25 at the end of business.
