In 1978, Fujian Zhangzhou No.1 high school was identified as one of the first batch of 17 key middle schools in Fujian Province; in 1996, it passed the acceptance of provincial first level standard schools.

Zhangzhou No.1 Middle School in Fujian Province was founded in 1902, formerly known as Zhangzhou Fu middle school. In 1930, it was renamed as Fujian lilongxi middle school. In 1951, it was officially named as Fujian Zhangzhou No.1 middle school.

As of 2014, Zhangzhou No.1 Middle School in Fujian Province covers an area of nearly 100000 square meters, with 50 classes, more than 2600 students and 218 teaching staff.

Historical evolution

In 1902, Zhoufu middle school, the predecessor of Zhangzhou No.1 Middle School in Fujian Province, was founded.

In 1913, the school merged with tingzhanglong Junior Normal School and changed its name to Zhangzhou Normal School. The school site was moved to Danxia Academy in Zhangzhou.

In 1915, Ting Zhang long normal school was separated.

In 1916, the school was renamed the eighth middle school of Fujian Province, and in 1920, it moved to the Jingzhong Temple of Zhishan, Zhangzhou.

In 1927, the school was renamed the eighth Junior Middle School of Fujian Province.

In 1930, the school merged with Fujian Provincial Longxi senior high school and was renamed Fujian Provincial Longxi middle school.

In the winter of 1952, the school was officially named Zhangzhou No.1 Middle School in Fujian Province.

In 1978, the school was identified as one of the first batch of 17 key middle schools in the province.

In 1996, the school passed the provincial level school acceptance.
