Mulan mountain scenic spot is located in the north of Huangpi District in Wuhan City, 35 km away from Huangpi city and 60 km away from Wuhan city. It is a national 5A tourist attraction, a national geopark, a provincial scenic spot and a nature reserve in Hubei Province.

Its main peak, qisiding, is 582.1 meters above sea level, which is one of the peaks at the southern foot of the Dabie Mountains. Guzhai District

The ancient village, with a total length of 5 Li and an area of about 4.4 mu, is winding up and down at the top of qisiding, the main peak, 582 meters above sea level. Guzhai district was built in the Southern Song Dynasty in the year of Kaiyuan (1259). It was the first beacon tower. In the third year of Xianfeng (1853) of the Qing Dynasty, it was used to repair the turret of the anti Taiping army. It is a military defensive ancient village. Since then, with the prevalence of religious activities, temples have been built year by year, forming many scenic spots with magical colors. Chessboard stone

Chessboard stone is located on the ridge of Mulan mountain, 413 meters northwest of the ticket office of Mulan mountain scenic spot. It is a huge metamorphic volcanic rock (greenschist) rock block that has been loosened due to the formation. The stone has a tensile fracture about 0.8 meters wide, which is dangerous to be abnormal. The geological age of Qipanshi formation is Neoproterozoic, 750-800 million years ago. The formation of that fracture is related to neotectonic activity.

Chuanjian cliff

Chuanjianya, also known as yixiantian, is located on the western slope of Mulan, 78 meters away from Qipanshi. It is a rock fracture formed by tectonic action. The rock wall to the north of chuanjianya is shallow grained rock. What's more rare is that there are two quartz veins in the rock, and an arrow is formed. It is vivid and exquisite.

Glaucophane quartz vein in Mulanshan

Glaucophane quartz vein is a rare and important geological relic, which can be seen in the outcrop beside the quqisiding highway, 270 meters northwest of the ticket hall. The lithology is metabasic volcanic rock (greenschist). There are two stages of metamorphic quartz vein development in the rock. The strike of quartz vein in the early stage is consistent with the foliation fold, and the quartz vein in the late stage is filled in the fracture of vertical foliation, and the quartz vein in the early stage is staggered. Some of the later quartz veins have blueblende minerals growing perpendicular to the vein wall, which may be related to fluid pressure and formed later than blueschist, indicating that blueblende minerals have different generations.

Dragon tail stone

Dragon tail stone is a broken stone like a dragon tail hanging from the sky. It is located 313 meters north of the ticket hall. The dragon tail stone is the dragon tail left by Mulan after killing the dragon. It is very ornamental. Longweishi is felsic schist. Mulan Tianchi

Mulan Lake
