Gong Jiayu's tomb
Gong Jiayu's tomb is located in Liuhe tapai building at the foot of yuelunshan, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Gong Haoyu (1652-1685) was born in Renhe (today's Hangzhou), whose name was Jiayin at the beginning, and whose name was Zuxi and jiecen. He used to be the head of the household department, the doctor of the Ministry of war, the censor of Shandong Province, the political envoy of Jiangnan, etc. The tomb faces southwest from northeast. It covers an area of 960 square meters. Shinto is 62.7 meters long and has seven platforms built according to the mountain. The first platform is equipped with a pair of Huabiao and a pair of two Pillar Stone Fang; the second platform is equipped with a Shinto tablet Pavilion and a Gaofeng tablet Pavilion on both sides of the platform, both of which are stone imitation wood structures with double eaves resting on the top of the mountain; the fourth and fifth platforms are equipped with a pair of shiwengzhong, Shima, Shihu and Shiyang respectively; the top of the platform is a tomb built with blue stone and covered with loess.
It's far away from the bustle of the downtown, with green mountains and tea trees. The new signboard is the sign of the entrance to Gong's tomb. The path of the tomb rises step by step according to the mountain trend. Looking from afar, it gives people a feeling of endless and deep solemnity. The path of the tomb is built into seven platforms, which seems to symbolize the seven promotion processes in Gong qieyu's 62 year life.
There is a two column single room stone archway about 5 meters high and 3.5 meters wide at the base of the fourth platform. Under the banner of the archway, there is a deep relief of double lion dance Hydrangea, and on the reverse side, there is a pattern of crane. The lines are exquisite and the carving is exquisite. One archway and two Huabiao stand in front of the graveway, which not only shows respect and honor, but also is an architectural guard of honor, indicating the unusual identity of the tomb owner. For more than 300 years since the early Qing Dynasty, Gong's tomb is rare because of its secluded location and rarely seen in tourist materials. The memorial archway and Huabiao, which have never been rebuilt, show the cultural and historical connotations of architecture, art, funeral customs and bureaucratic hierarchy.
