Mirage -- twelve representations of contemporary Chinese Museum Architecture
In addition to presenting the scene, museum buildings often become the scene of the city, which forms a complex relationship between watching and being watched. In the modern society of hungry and thirsty consumption, these museums with halo will inevitably become sacred objects rather than places to be worshiped, and architects are often proud of the design opportunities of museum buildings.
With the rapid development of cities in China, museum buildings have been built at an incredible speed in recent years. But it is such a crazy scale and quantity that makes it difficult for people to express this topic in a traditional way. People may be able to present some of them through models, photos and drawings, but it is not enough to explore the deep problems behind this grand scene: museum construction and use, public space and private field, presentation and observation, eventuality and routine
This exhibition attempts to present rather than reappear, so that twelve groups of architects or artists can re express the museum architecture from their own point of view in the way of Pan visual art.
Zhang Ming's and Zhang Zi's large-scale model installation works are directly related to the theme of the exhibition. They are presented in two different types of Museums: "large and small", and a tension system is established. They reflect on the temple complex at one end and question the fascination of personal expression at the other end.
In the exhibition, two groups of works are created with the theme of Shanghai Museum of contemporary art, the main venue of the exhibition. Zhang Jiajing cuts the museum building continuously to remove "architectural arrogance". The video combination device of Bu Bing and Chai Tao combines video and surveillance cameras from multiple perspectives inside and outside the Museum, trying to reverse the relationship between seeing and being seen during the museum visit.
The first youth curator program of Shanghai Contemporary Art Museum
"Young curators program" is a new exhibition project launched by Shanghai Museum of contemporary art this year. It aims to cultivate young curators of Chinese at home and abroad, show the new achievements of young Chinese artists in visual art from their perspective, and promote the development of Chinese contemporary art ecology. The scheme solicits curating schemes by means of online contribution, and the top three are selected by the academic committee of Shanghai Museum of contemporary art and given financial support, so that their schemes can be realized in the museum.
Portrait of the times: 30 years of Contemporary Art
Since the late 1970s, Chinese contemporary art has gone through more than 30 years of development. From the "new trend of the Eighth Five Year Plan" in the 1980s, the international recognition in the 1990s, the commercial success in the 2000s to today's overall prosperity, contemporary art as a new cultural form has also been widely recognized from home to abroad, from the folk to the official. And the development of contemporary art in the past 30 years also reflects the great changes of the whole country and the people in this special era. Whether it is from the overall economy and culture of the country, or from people's inner cognition of themselves and their involvement in society, it can be reflected from the works of artists over the years. Therefore, the exhibition takes the broad sense of "portrait" as the starting point
