Historical evolution
In December 1977, the State Council approved the establishment of China Arts and Crafts Museum. The preparatory office was established in April 1982. The foundation was laid in December 1985 and completed in October 1989. The inauguration ceremony was held in November 1989. It was officially opened to the outside world in July 1990.

The main building of China Arts and Crafts Museum has 7 floors. The building is octagonal symmetrical. The roof is covered with beige glazed tiles, and the outside is composed of red granite and white marble, which is full of national characteristics. The interior is modern decoration. On the east side of the main building is the 18 meter high preface hall, which is the shared space of the whole exhibition hall. There are central air conditioning and self generating equipment, automatic sprinkler and 1301 gas fire fighting equipment, automatic alarm, TV monitoring and other security devices in the exhibition hall. The exhibition hall is equipped with constant temperature and humidity equipment. It covers an area of 10463 square meters and a building area of 32307 square meters.
China Arts and Crafts Museum has 14 exhibition halls and two-story sales hall. The fifth floor of the main building is the treasure Museum of China Arts and Crafts Museum, with five exhibition halls, covering an area of 1800 square meters. It collects and displays all kinds of contemporary national arts and crafts treasures. The third and fourth floors are the exhibition halls of the Exhibition Department of the China National Arts and Crafts Museum, with three exhibition halls on each floor, covering an area of 4800 square meters. They undertake various short-term exhibitions of Arts and crafts, culture and arts, light and textile products at home and abroad. The first and second floors are arts and crafts shopping centers, with an area of 5400 square meters. The first floor of the prelude hall can be used for exhibition or opening ribbon cutting. It symbolizes the spirit of the Chinese nation. On the front, the mountains are tall and straight, and the trees are green. On the back, the trees are gray, and the scene of dusk is contrasted on both sides. It is a rare treasure in the history to deduct the poetic meaning of Tang poetry, which is "Yin and Yang cut dim dawn".

Tenghuan of the four seas
The raw material used weighs 77 kg and is oblong with a maximum thickness of 8 cm. However, it has good color and texture. It is green, dense, crystal clear and transparent. Due to the excellent quality of raw materials, Sihai tenghuan is extremely rare, so the artists designed it as a plug-in screen. After extremely precise calculation, the flat and rectangular jadeite with a thickness of only 8 cm was divided into 4 pieces on average. In addition to the loss of 0.8 cm, the thickness of each piece of jadeite is 1.8 cm, reaching the best degree, fully showing the beauty of jadeite texture and color. The artists put four pieces of 1.8 cm thick jadeite in a symmetrical way to form a large screen, which is three times larger than the original material, showing the crystal clear green texture beauty of jadeite to the maximum extent. After the combination, the whole work is not only smooth, but also straight and consistent at the seams. On the theme, it is designed as a vigorous scene of Jiulong tumbling in the sea of clouds, symbolizing the spirit of the Chinese nation's take-off. There is movement in the stillness, with a strong sense of movement. The image of the dragon has absorbed the essence of the Dragon designs in the past. It has both the vigorous and vigorous style of the Tang Dynasty and the advantages of the Qing Dynasty. It eliminated the bloated and rigid shortcomings of the Qing Dynasty, making it lively, lively and vivid. The artists make full use of the natural color of the raw materials. In the green part, they design the dragon with the technique of deep relief, highlighting the green; in the white, pink, light blue and other parts, they design the cloud and water ripple with the technique of shallow relief, to set off the theme of Tuolong and the green.
The wonder of Daiyue
It is made of 368kg jadeite which is rare in the world. According to the characteristics of equilateral triangle of raw materials, artists select topics according to the shape, color and texture of materials. The design of Mount Tai, the first of the five mountains, symbolizes the spirit of the Chinese nation and has far-reaching implications. At the same time, according to the material, we should try our best to preserve the precious raw materials and occupy the edge and corner materials, so as to maintain the advantage of large volume of jadeite and make the mountains undulating and scattered. In terms of layout, the authors went to Mount Tai three times for sketching and observation, summarized and concentrated on the art, highlighted the key points, centered on Zhongtianmen, concentrated on the main landscapes such as Shibapan, Tianjie and Yuhuangding, and abandoned some secondary landscapes, so that the works would not become models to show the real scenery.
Pavilions, terraces and open halls, are carved on a wild profusion of vegetation in the front of the work. The design is the forest of Taishan, with a series of cascades of lush trees. The close look of pavilions, figures, cranes, deer, sheep (cranes, deer, sheep), bridges, waterfalls, streams, etc., are carved into the micro, highlighting the essence of jade texture and exquisite craftsmanship of jade making. The peak in the middle view is not too much polished, which fully shows the beauty of jadeite texture.
The dark side of jadeite is dark oil blue, so the artists designed it as the dark side of Mount Tai. On the top left, there is "Wangyue" written by Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. It is carved in iron line seal script and filled with gold. The style is simple and elegant. In particular, there is a reddish brown jade on the top right edge of the facade. Artists use this rare color to design a red sun rising slowly on the top of the mountain and hiding in the clouds.

In the production process, because the flowers, branches and leaves of flowers can be freely interspersed, the bad places can be removed, and the green and lotus root powder color can be preserved and highlighted to be processed into flowers and leaves.
