Qianqingmen
Qianqing gate is the main palace gate of the inner court in the Forbidden City. It was built in 1420 in Yongle of Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1655 in Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty. The area behind the gate of Qianqing Dynasty is the living area of empress and emperor, concubines and princes.
In the Qing Dynasty, the main gate of the three imperial palaces (Qianqing palace, Jiaotai palace, Kunning Palace) was the place where the emperor "listened to the government".
The Qianqing facade is 5 rooms wide and 3 rooms deep, with a height of about 16m. The single eaves Xieshan roof is located on a 1.5m high white marble xumizuo, surrounded by carved stone railings. In front of the gate, there are three steps, the middle is the Royal Stone, and there are a pair of bronze gilded lions on both sides. There are three doors in the middle, the door leaf is set in the back eaves, and the hall is bright. Between the two ends is a green brick sill wall and a square lattice window. Under the eaves, there are three steps on the Dougong, painted with golden dragon and seal. Both sides of the door are octagonal glass screen walls, 8 m high and 9.7 m long. The center of the wall and the corners are decorated with glass flowers. The flowers are natural and vivid, and the colors are gorgeous. Under the sunlight, they shine brilliantly, setting off the Qianqing door. Inside the gate, there is a high platform and Yong road connecting the platform of Qianqing palace.
In the east of the Qianqing gate are the inner left gate and the Jiuqing check-in room, and in the West are the inner right gate and the military aircraft office. The East and West ends of the square in front of the gate are Jingyun gate and longzong gate. Qianqingmen is an important channel connecting the inner court and the outer court. History of scenic spots
Inside the gate is a high platform passage with white stone railings, which leads directly to the Qianqing palace. On the day of listening to the government, there was a throne in the gate. At Chenshi (7-9 a.m.), the emperor ruled the gate, and the departments of households, rites, soldiers, workers, and officials took turns to play (send memorials or oral Music), and then the emperor made decisions. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, most people listened to the government here. After Xianfeng, they did not listen to the government here.
The imperial court was held at the time of the regular day. At that time, the Meridian Gate drummed, and the ministers of culture and military marched in from the left and right Yemen of the Meridian Gate, which were on both sides of the Taihe gate according to their grades. When the emperor ascended to the throne, the whip was sounded. After the ministers knelt down and kowtowed three times, the six ministers of the nine Qing Dynasty finished their work in turn. The censor corrected the etiquette and sounded the whip. The emperor drove back to the palace and all the officials withdrew. The system of court ceremony is very strict. Officials are not allowed to make noise, whisper, spit and so on. Otherwise, they will be punished with impoliteness.
