Jiangjunguan is located on the great wall of Ming Dynasty, about 40 kilometers northeast of Pinggu District, Beijing. It is close to Maoshan in the East, Huangyaguan in the southeast, and juziluguan in the northwest. It is an important pass in the northeast of Pinggu.
This pass was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. The eastern wall of the pass still exists today. There is an enemy tower, locally known as "zhengbeilou", with only a base about 6 meters high. There is a gate on the inner side of the wall near the building. There is a courtyard in the south of the gate. There is a natural columnar vertical stone, about 6 meters high. It is said that the stone was originally engraved with the word "general stone" and the year number. Today, the handwriting has been scattered. Most of the Great Wall on the east side of the general pass has collapsed. The Great Wall on both sides near the pass has been built firmly, and the stone walls are still well preserved. To the west of Jiangjunguan is Jinshan. Because of the steep mountain, there is no wall built. Only in the second depression of Jinshan ridge, there is a stone wall less than 50 meters long, which is called dam wall locally.
