Yiwu ancient tea mountain is the largest tea garden and the largest output of the six ancient tea mountains. It is 656-2023 meters above sea level. There are great differences in altitude, forming a three-dimensional climate, which has the characteristics of warm, humid and warm climate. The characteristics of ancient tea trees are as follows: the branches of tea trees are dense, the leaves are horizontal; the branches are more, up to four grades; the leaf shape is long oval, the leaf stem is wedge-shaped, the leaves are long, the leaves are wide, and the veins are pair; the color is green or dark green.
Yiwu has been famous for producing good tea since ancient times. According to the data of tea quality test, the main factors of good quality of ancient trees here are as follows
1. The protection of vegetation is relatively complete, the ecological environment is balanced, and the atmosphere is free from any pollution. The ancient tea trees and the ancient tea garden are surrounded by dense forests, beautiful mountains and rivers, and sufficient nutrients, which are extremely conducive to the natural growth of tea trees.
2. The climate is humid and hot, and the natural conditions of light, heat, water and soil are superior, which makes the ancient tea trees here full of vitality all the year round. They germinate early, have strong ability to raise buds, have large plump buds, and hairy back leaves. The annual growth period is nearly 10 months. The mining is carried out in late February and ends in mid November.
Under the same conditions, the tea polyphenols, water extracts and catechins of Yiwu ancient tea garden were significantly higher than those of other tea producing areas.
By 2004, the total area of tea in the town has grown to 17000 mu, including more than 14000 mu of ancient tea garden and old tea garden, more than 3200 mu of terrace tea garden, 9 tea planting teams, 3 tea processing plants, and more than 20 family Pu'er tea workshops. The total output of dry tea is 300 tons, of which the output of dry tea in ancient tea garden is more than 100 tons: mainly processing "seven cake" Pu'er tea, pressed brick tea and green tea. Pu'er tea processed according to traditional Ding art maintains the appearance and quality of traditional Pu'er tea and enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad.
Yiwu mountain tea is a kind of arbor with large leaves. It is slightly bitter and has a high aroma. It has a quiet fragrance in the plum and honey fragrance. The ancient tea mountain and town of Yiwu, once the seat of Zhenyue County, has a long history of tea planting and tea making. Especially in the late Qing Dynasty, it became the most bustling tea horse town and tea processing and distribution center among the six tea mountains. According to historical records, during the reign of Jiaqing and Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, Yiwu mountain produced more than 70000 dry teas a year. The Pu'er tea is continuously transported from the mule and horse team, through Pu'er, Xiaguan, Lijiang, Sichuan, to kangzang region, and some of it is sold to India, Nepal and other countries.

Yiwu mountain is characterized by high fog, fertile land, warm and rainy, rich heat and abundant rainfall. The soil of tea area is formed by the weathering of purple rock and sandstone parent rock under the soil forming conditions of tropical and subtropical monsoon rain forest, and mainly consists of Latosol, lateritic red soil and yellow soil. The pH value of soil is between 4.6 and 6.5. The content of soil organic matter is more than 4.6%, and the thickness of humus is more than 5cm. Deep soil layer, good air permeability and high content of organic matter. The vegetation ecosystem of the distribution area of ancient tea trees is well maintained. There are tall trees such as Toona sinensis, Cinnamomum camphora, banyan, lacquer tree, Tung palm, etc. there are many aerophytes, luxuriant trees and vines, high forest coverage and high concentration of higher plants, which constitute a good ecological environment. It is an ideal place for tea planting.
