Jinsha site is the first major archaeological discovery in China at the beginning of the 21st century. It is a site of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Evolution of construction
On February 8, 2001, the Jinsha site was discovered.
In 2002, the international competition of Jinsha Heritage Museum attracted nine famous design institutions from the United States, France, Germany and China. Finally, the project of architectural design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University was determined as the winning and implementation plan with its novel concept and proper respect for the remains.
On October 17, 2005, Shu embroidery products with the theme of "Sun Bird" returned to earth after flying in space with Shenzhou-6 spacecraft.
On December 18, 2005, the commemorative sculpture of "the sun god bird" was unveiled in the Jinsha Site Museum and set as a scenic spot.
In June 2006, the cultural relics exhibition hall of Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum opened.
On April 16, 2007, Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum officially opened.
In January 2009, the cultural relics protection center of Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum was basically completed.

Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum covers an area of 456 mu, with a construction area of 38000 square meters. The Mudi River in Chengdu flows through the museum from west to East, and the riverside scenery on both sides constitutes the horizontal landscape axis of the museum; from south to north, you can visit the archaeological excavation site and exhibition hall of Jinsha site, and the North-South open space constitutes the vertical cultural axis of the museum. Around the museum building is the garden area. The memorial sculpture of Chinese cultural heritage, covering an area of about 500 square meters, is located at the South Gate of Jinsha Site Museum and next to the main channel of the exhibition hall. It is the only way to visit from south to north. Ebony forest is located in the southeast corner of Jinsha Site Museum. It is composed of Jinsha site and nearly 100 giant ebony unearthed in Chengdu. It is a unique landscape. The Jade Road covers an area of about 1000 square meters and is composed of large jade and a number of small pebbles.

Xishan waterscape square is located in the garden area to the west of the main road of Jinsha Site Museum. The square covers an area of 10 mu, and the ground is paved with 20 tons of golden rice washing sand. The square is close to the museum's classic ecological landscape Xishan Mountain, which is 12 meters high with evergreen plants such as Metasequoia, Zhenlan, camellia and azalea.
Jinsha Theater
Jinsha theater of Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum is located in the northwest corner of the museum. It looks like a crystal crown and a budding flower bud. It is the venue for the first large-scale original musical "Jinsha" in China.

Dream back to Jinsha is a four-dimensional three-dimensional film created by Chengdu Jinsha Heritage Museum. Dream back to Jinsha uses two 20000 lumen Barco high-definition digital projectors, with a maximum resolution of 1280 * 1024. The screen size is 12.8 meters wide and 7.5 meters high. Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum
Chengdu Jinsha Heritage Museum is located in the east of the museum, on the South Bank of the river. The museum is the most important archaeological excavation site of Jinsha site, and also the place where cultural relics were first discovered.
Chengdu Jinsha Ruins Museum is a nearly circular steel frame building with a construction area of 7588 square meters, a height of 19 meters and a span of 63 meters. As 90% of the cultural relics of Jinsha site are still buried in the soil of the excavation site, the huge space supported by 15 steel columns protects the archaeological excavation site to the maximum extent.
Exhibition hall of Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum
The exhibition hall of Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum is located on the North Bank of the Mudi river. It is a sloping square building with a construction area of 16000 square meters and an exhibition area of 5000 square meters. The exhibition hall also adopts a full steel frame structure, which is divided into two floors above the ground and one floor underground. The theme exhibition in the exhibition hall is called "walking into the sands". It is composed of five exhibition halls, namely "ancient homeland", "silhouette of Wangdu", "endless heaven and earth", "treasures left for thousands of years" and "interpretation of Jinsha".
Exhibition hall 1: ancient homeland
The first exhibition hall is located in the West Hall on the second floor of the exhibition hall, covering an area of about 900 square meters. The purpose of the exhibition is to reproduce the ecological environment of Chengdu Plain 3000 years ago. A large-scale half scene picture with a height of 8.7 meters, a length of 57 meters and an area of 500 square meters is used. It includes Jinsha dawn restoration landscape, large-scale relic display, directional query system and beat query system.
Exhibition hall 2: silhouette of Wangdu
The second exhibition hall is located in the East Hall on the second floor, covering an area of about 900 square meters. The main purpose of the exhibition is to show the social life of ancient Shu more than 3000 years ago. The pavilion uses the irregular "fragment splicing" form to organically combine the archaeological excavation results, scene restoration and high-tech means. Along the exhibition line, it slowly presents the silhouettes of the production and life of Jinsha ancestors: residence, tools, pottery, smelting, jade making, tombs, etc. Cutting, die punching and other techniques. Most of the unearthed bronze wares are small ones and accessories of large ritual vessels.
The third exhibition hall: endless space
The third exhibition hall is located in the East Hall on the first floor, covering an area of about 1000 square meters. The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the content theme of "communication between heaven and earth" of ancient Shu people, and to reproduce the scenes of religious sacrifice in ancient Shu. The concentrated display of gold, bronze, jade, stone tools, ivory, divination and other cultural relics shows that the ancient kingdom had a long history. The entrance is divided into a long passage by iron gauze net, and the feeling of time and space tunnel is created by light.
Exhibition hall 4: Treasures of a thousand years
The fourth exhibition hall is located in the West Hall on the first floor, covering an area of about 900 square meters. The main purpose of the exhibition is to show the most famous cultural relics of the more than 30 pieces of Jinsha site, mainly based on the "sun god bird" gold ornaments.
The exhibition design of the whole exhibition hall is centered on the gold decoration of "sun god bird", the treasure of Jinsha Site Museum. The circular exhibition stand with the gold ornaments of "sun god bird" as the center, surrounded by four groups of fan-shaped display cabinets, displays the cultural relics unearthed from Jinsha site in a hierarchical way.
Exhibition hall 5: Interpretation of Jinsha
The fifth exhibition hall is located in the West Hall on the ground floor, covering an area of 830 square meters. The purpose of the exhibition is to sort out the development of ancient Shu culture in Sichuan before Qin Dynasty, so that tourists can understand the origin and destination of Jinsha site.
The central sand table shows the distribution area of ancient Shu civilization and its close connection with the surrounding culture. Baodun Culture -- Sanxingdui Culture -- Jinsha · Shierqiao Culture -- the civilization course of late Shu culture shows the historical background of Jinsha culture and the real context of cultural development through picture display boards and unearthed cultural relics.
Architectural features
