Huanghai Village

Huanghai village is located in Huangjiao Island, east of Jinqing Town, Luqiao District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the five island villages in Luqiao District, covering an area of 0.6 square kilometers. The village has a total population of 902, 309 households, 25 party members and 32 villagers' representatives.

The collective economic income of the village is 25000 yuan, and the per capita income of the village is 6500 yuan.

The village is a pure fishing village. There is a fishing leisure center and a live farm on the island. Fishery is the leading industry of the village. There are 48 fishing boats of various types, 12 small fishing boats for shallow water operation, and 14 shallow water aquaculture households. Due to the island traffic conditions and other factors, there are only more than 100 villagers living on the island, basically the elderly and farmers or poor villagers. Other villagers have moved to Jinqing market town and the surrounding inland areas to live. In recent years, under the severe situation of declining marine fishery resources and declining fishery production efficiency, the village Party branch and the village committee actively seek countermeasures to guide some fishermen to change their jobs and train 96 people of all kinds. At the same time, we should seize the opportunity, organize and carry out a variety of operations, and encourage fishermen to go to Zhoushan, Yushan and other distant fishing grounds for fishing, so as to improve the economic income of fishermen.

The village has been awarded the honorary titles of advanced grassroots party organizations at district and town levels, family planning work, and population contribution award by the district government in 2006.
