Donghu was formerly known as dongjingtang, also known as luyuntang, commonly known as Datang. It is said that before the Ming Dynasty, the East Lake was made up of more than 20 lotus root ponds. There was a well on the jagged rocks in the middle, so it was named Dongjing. Later, it got its name because Su Dongpo, a famous poet of Song Dynasty, inscribed the word "East Lake" on the East wellhead when he visited Guigang. East Lake, known as the Pearl of Guigang, is a holy lake praised by the people.

The birth and development of Donghu park are closely related to the development of Guigang City since the Republic of China. The prosperity and decline of the park rose and fell due to the changes of social situation. The name of Donghu Park changed from Zhongshan Park, Dakai Park, people's Park to Donghu park. East Lake Park was built in 1930. East Lake is an open scenic spot. East Lake scenic area covers an area of more than 740 mu, with a water area of more than 680 mu. In the scenic area, there are monument to revolutionary martyrs, Yiwang Pavilion, shidakai Monument and tombstone of Yiwang's great grandmother. On the island in the middle of the lake, there are bronze statues of shidakai, the Yitian king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. In the lake, there are sculptures such as "Lotus Fairy", "crane" and "Mirs". Guigang is known as the lotus city. In the middle of summer, the East Lake has green lotus leaves, fragrant lotus flowers, and thousands of swallows. "East Lake Lotus swallow" has been designated as one of the eight new sceneries in Guigang City. In the 1990s, the state and autonomous region held three large-scale dragon boat races in East Lake.

Yiwang pavilion was built in 1934. Two columns on the east side of the pavilion are the couplet inscribed by Yu Youren, the former national government supervisory yuan, and the banner inscribed by Li Zongren, the former commander-in-chief of the fourth corps of the national revolutionary army. On the two columns in the West are couplets written by Bai Chongxi, former deputy commander in chief of the fourth corps of the national revolutionary army.

The shidakai monument was built in 1934, more than 20 years old. Li Zongren's inscription is engraved on the west side of the tablet, Wang Jingwei's "Taiping Renjie" inscription and Ju Zheng's inscription are inscribed on the east side of the tablet.

Dingjian ferry stele is an important historical basis for researching the family history of Shi Dakai.
