Nagqu Frigid Grassland
Naqu Tibetan means "Heihe"; Naqu region is located in the north of Tibet Autonomous Region, bordering Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province in the north, Changdu region in the East, Lhasa, Nyingchi and Shigatse in the south, and Ali Region in the West.
The whole area is surrounded by Tanggula mountains, nyainqen Tanggula mountains and Gangdise mountains. Dargo snow mountain in the West and Buji snow mountain in the East are like two fierce lions guarding this precious land.

Naqu alpine grassland is rated as one of the six most beautiful grasslands in China by National Geographic of China.
This piece of land with a total area of more than 400000 square kilometers is often referred to as Qiangtang. The whole terrain is high in the West and low in the East, high in the west, flat in the middle and low in the East, with an average altitude of more than 4500 meters. The central and western regions are vast and flat, with many hills and basins, lakes and rivers. The eastern part of Tibet is a valley area with many high mountains and valleys. It is the only crop producing area in northern Tibet, with a small amount of forest resources and shrub grassland. Its altitude is between 3500-4500 meters, and its climate is better than that of the central and western regions.

Naqu Town, where Naqu administrative office is located, is the only way to the Qinghai Tibet highway and one of Tibet's tourist areas open to the outside world.
