Brahma Temple
Fanzong temple is located 4 km northwest of Wudan Town, Wengniute Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, about 80 km away from Chifeng City. It is the only complete ancient architectural complex in the banner. It was first built in 1732, and damaged by flood three years later. In 1743, it was rebuilt. Emperor Qianlong gave it the name of "fanzong Temple" and inscribed the plaque in Mongolian, Manchu, Chinese and Tibetan characters.
The whole complex is composed of Mountain Gate (Tianwang Hall), main hall, East and West Hall, back hall (Zhangba Buddha Hall), Guandi hall, Jingjuan hall, etc. there are 115 existing buildings, with a total construction area of 5000 square meters. The buildings are all made of blue brick, tile and wooden frame structure, with different ridge features. Figures, dragons, Phoenix, birds and flowers are carved and painted with vivid shapes. About 200 meters to the west of the temple, there is a 27 meter high Bodhi pagoda. Every year, 100000 believers come to participate in Buddhist activities.

Architectural features

The temple takes the main hall and the auxiliary hall as its name, that is, the Mountain Gate (Tianwang Hall), the main hall (Daxiong Hall) and the rear Hall (Maitreya Hall) as its vertical axis, with auxiliary halls on both sides, forming several closed quadrangles. The buildings are all of blue brick tile and wooden frame structure. The buildings have their own characteristics. The roof forms are different. They are grand and magnificent with unique ingenuity. The color paintings on the forehead Fang and Liang Fang are lifelike. Figures, dragons, Phoenix, birds, flowers, etc. are lifelike and vivid. The top of the hall is made of cloth and tile, with lotus or animal triangular drip and round hook head. The main ridge is Qingshui ridge, with dragon kisses at both ends. This fanzong temple, which can be called a famous temple outside the Great Wall, has not been spared the misfortune during the "Cultural Revolution", and it has not been destroyed. In order to restore the original appearance of the temple, since 1987, the people's Government of the banner has raised funds to repair it. The Dean, researcher, the fifth living Buddha of the higher Buddhist College of the Tibetan Language Department of China, and the main living Buddha of fanzong temple, danjun rannabanza (Wu Zhan in Han Dynasty). Since 1998, he has invested tens of millions of yuan to repair the temple. The newly restored fanzong temple, covering an area of four hectares, consists of the square in front of the temple, the heavenly king hall, the drum tower, the bell tower, the guest hall, the monk's room, the zhuanjing hall, the Guandi hall, and the 21st Tara hall, forming a large-scale and unique ancient architectural complex in Chifeng area. Fanzong temple will hold a grand opening ceremony on the fourth, fifth and sixth day of June in 2004.

According to the idea of Danji rannabanza, the living Buddha, fanzong temple was eventually built into an academic temple through perseverance and unremitting efforts. To this end, the temple set up a library, reference room, archive room and computer room, and built a "Mongolian Tibetan clinic". The "living Buddha mansion" and "Jushi building", which are convenient for the academic research and exchange of Buddhist experts and scholars in China, have also been included in the construction plan. The form of running a temple, which is still in the initial stage, is second to none in China and unique in Inner Mongolia.
Zobajiancuo, the great Lama in charge of the daily work of fanzong temple, became a monk in October 1980 and received a commandment. In 1997, when he was the abbot of Longquan Temple in Kalaqin banner, he presided over the restoration of Longquan Temple. He also participated in the restoration of the other three temples and made outstanding achievements. He was also rated as "advanced monk" and "model Abbot" by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Chifeng City. The temple he presided over won the title of "advanced Temple". Fanzong temple also won the honor of "Chifeng model Temple" in April 2004.
In 1985, fanzong temple was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and was approved as a place for religious activities in 1995.
