Changshu Museum
Changshu museum is located in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, the ancient city of Yu east foot of the sages Zhongyong, Yanzi tomb. It has Changshu Guqin art museum, wangshigu Memorial Hall and Qingquan Temple exhibition hall. It covers an area of more than 6000 square meters, with a total construction area of 9100 square meters. The museum is composed of eight exhibition halls, cultural relics storehouses, office buildings and auxiliary rooms. It was officially opened to the public on September 28, 1997, and was awarded the national second level museum in 2009.
Changshu museum now has more than 16000 pieces (groups) of cultural relics ranging from Songze and Liangzhu cultures to the period of the new democratic revolution, of which calligraphy and painting, ceramics and jade are the main categories. Now there are 21 national first-class cultural relics and 261 second-class cultural relics. The number and grade of the collections are among the top in the same level museums in China. 155 books and paintings were included in the catalogue of ancient China calligraphy and painting. Cultural relics such as Liangzhu Culture jade, six dynasties celadon and Ming Dynasty porcelain ware were selected in China's cultural relics exhibition for several consecutive sessions and were cataloged.
Since May 1, 2008, Changshu Museum has taken the lead in opening free of charge in Suzhou. Later, it was announced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, the Provincial Department of finance, the Provincial Department of culture and the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics as one of the ten key units of 174 Museums and memorials in Jiangsu Province. In 2010, it was rated as a national second-class Museum by the State Administration of cultural relics.
Development history
In 1991, Changshu museum began to set up.
On September 28, 1997, Changshu museum was officially opened to the public.
From May 1, 2008, Changshu Museum took the lead in opening free of charge in Suzhou.
In 2009, it was awarded the national second level museum.
Exhibition Profile
Jade collection
The exhibition hall displays Liangzhu Culture jades such as jade tiger Shaped Pendant (Warring States period), white jade dragon lute shaped hook (yuan).
Collection porcelain
The exhibition hall displays the Celadon of Six Dynasties, such as blue glazed tiaojiang Xiangxun (Western Jin Dynasty), blue glazed Huzi (Western Jin Dynasty), blue glazed dog circle (Western Jin Dynasty), and the official porcelain of Ming Dynasty.
Collection of calligraphy and painting
The exhibition hall displays Wang Shimin's ancient landscape album (Qing Dynasty) and Sun Zhen's ink bamboo fan page (Ming Dynasty).
Collection of miscellaneous items
The exhibition hall displays the red sandalwood carving penholder (Qing Dynasty), wengpan stone carving bamboo penholder (Qing Dynasty), Xinzhe sikui dragon mirror (Warring States period) and other miscellaneous items.
Collection materials
The exhibition hall displays the documents and materials collected by the museum, such as the collection of ancient seals (Qing Dynasty), Qianlong's general catalogue of imperial Siku Quanshu (Qing Dynasty), and Liunan Shichao (Qing Dynasty).

The exhibition hall displays Lin Hetian's stone seals (Qing Dynasty), Yin Botang's stone seals (Qing Dynasty), Zhao Gu's stone seals (Republic of China), etc.

Important events
On October 19, 2001, Xu Jialu, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, inspected Changshu Museum.
On January 2, 2003, Hui Liangyu, former Secretary of Jiangsu provincial Party committee, visited Changshu Museum.
On July 2, 2003, Shan Jixiang, director of the State Administration of cultural relics, and relevant leaders of the Ministry of culture visited Changshu Museum.
Venue features
Changshu museum displays its collection of cultural relics to Chinese and foreign guests by means of high-tech exhibition. Visitors can also get a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the collection through multimedia. Since the end of 2015, Changshu Museum has invested 600000 yuan to transform the exhibition hall, and the seven exhibition halls have added high-tech exhibition means.
In the porcelain exhibition hall, the naked eye three-dimensional imaging system is added, so that the audience can watch the porcelain products from multiple angles and close range, while the large screen projection equipment introduces the knowledge of porcelain to the audience in detail.
