Qigu salt mountain is located in the center of Qigu salt field, known as "Changbai Mountain" in Tainan. It is the youngest salt drying farm in the history of Taiwan's salt industry, and later developed into the largest scale salt drying farm. The park is divided into the main peak of salt mountain and the North Peak of salt mountain with an altitude of 20 meters.
A Salt Museum and theme park have been built around Qigu salt mountain, which can not only watch salt mountain, salt withering, play Sea Golf and other new entertainment activities, but also fully understand the development history of salt industry and the refining process of salt. If you still have a good time, you can take some salt bricks home as a souvenir.
Qigu salt mountain
Located in Qigu district and Jiangjun District of Tainan City, Qigu salt mountain is one of the largest and the latest developed relics of Qigu saltworks in Taiwan, with a total area of more than 2700 hectares and an annual salt production of 110000 tons at its heyday.
present situation
It has stopped drying salt production and transformed into a famous salt tourism base, which is one of the eight scenic spots in new Nanying
On the ground. Because Yanshan is like snow shining in the eyes, like Changbai Mountain, which has been snowing for many years, it is also called "Changbai Mountain of Nantai", while Japanese tourists to Taiwan jokingly call it "Fuji mountain of Taiwan". There are two main salt Mountains: the main peak of salt mountain and the north peak of salt mountain. The former is the last drying salt of Qigu salt farm, with an altitude of 20 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a seven story building, and the storage of salt is about 60000 tons; the latter is from Western Australia, which is the raw material salt of crushing salt factory.
history
Qigu salt drying was first taught to the public in 1665 when Zheng Chenggong's General Chen Yonghua took the post of "commander Yongwei". During the period of Japanese occupation, Taiwan Salt and South Japan Salt Co., Ltd. were established in 1935, and Taiwan post-war period was established in 1971. In its heyday, it covered an area of more than 2700 hectares and produced 110000 tons of salt a year, accounting for six tenths of Taiwan's total output. Because the salt pond belongs to the soil plate structure, it has become an important supply area for industrial salt. However, due to the high production cost, Taiyan company was unable to compete with the imported salt. In May 2002, Taiyan company closed its salt drying plant. Since then, the salt drying industry in 338 years has gone into history, and the property right has been transferred to the state.
Qigu salt farm has three salt fields as follows: Taiwan Salt Field: located in the West and north of yanchengli, Qigu District, it was invested and built by Taiwan Salt Co., Ltd. in December 1935 and completed in April 1938, with an area of 398 square meters. Nanyan salt field: located in zhongliaoli, dingshanli, Qigu district and kouliao, Jiangjun Township, it was invested and constructed by "nannippon Salt Co., Ltd." in June 1938 and completed in 1942, covering an area of 1691a. Fan shaped salt field: it is the only newly developed salt field in Taiwan during the postwar period. It is located in the north of Taiwan Salt Field and the south of Jiangjun fishing port. It was invested and built by "Taiwan salt factory" (later transformed into Taiwan Salt Industrial Company) in January 1971 and completed in June 1977, covering an area of 716 hectares.
Tourism resources
Taiwan Salt Museum: it is a museum building with both traditional image and modern design, which imitates the appearance of salt mountain. The museum introduces salt from all over the world. The exhibition contents include: Museum of historical relics, hands-on experimental area, new product experience area, salt drying information and model exhibition from all over the world. There is a traditional demonstration salt beach outside the museum for tourists to experience and learn. Unsinkable sea: the principle of unsinkable sea is similar to that of dead sea. The density of sea water is higher than that of human body, which makes human body unable to sink. About two-thirds of them float on the water surface, while the remaining one-third is in the water. Because the sea water contains amino acids and minerals close to the structure of the human body, it can promote cell activation, health and beauty; in addition, salt mud is rich in minerals, which can relax nerves, remove fatigue and improve skin quality.
