After the death of CAI Xiang, he was named Zhonghui in the Southern Song Dynasty. In order to commemorate Cai Xiang's great achievements when he learned Fuzhou, Cai Boqi, his sixth grandson, the descendant of his third son Caidian and the ancestor of Tengshan branch, built the "Cai Zhonghui ancestral hall" and then became the "Cai's ancestral hall" in Tengshan. The ancestral hall was rebuilt twice in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. During the cultural revolution, the ancestral hall was occupied by a textile factory in Fuzhou as a weaving workshop. After the end of the "Cultural Revolution", Tengshan's Tsai clan went around to protect the ancestral hall. After unremitting efforts, they finally recovered the ancestral hall in the mid-1980s. In August 1988, the people's Government of Cangshan District announced it as the first batch of cultural relics protection units at the district level. In order to better protect this ancestral temple, Tengshan's Cai clan decided to donate it to Cangshan District Government of Fuzhou City. From 1989 to 1990, the government of Cangshan District invested more than 200000 yuan to relocate the residents in the ancestral hall, and carried out the first restoration, including the main gate, the front patio, the wall and the front hall. In 1990, Caixiang Memorial Hall and Cangshan District Museum in Fuzhou were officially listed here. In November 1992, Fuzhou Municipal People's government announced that it was the third batch of municipal cultural relics protection units in Fuzhou. From 1993 to 1994, more than 200000 yuan was invested in the second restoration, including the worship Pavilion, the memorial hall, the front and back corridors, and the office building. In 1997, the third restoration was carried out, including the front cloister, the screen door of the front hall, the six screen doors of the hall, the middle cloister and the screen door of the sacrificial hall. The statue of CAI Xiang, the rear screen, the twenty square ink inscriptions of CAI Xiang, the middle Hall of CAI Xiang's achievements, the sixteen banners, eleven pairs of couplets, two square plaques, offering tables, bronze tripods and the Exhibition cabinets of the front hall were made.
In 2003, due to the reconstruction of the old housing area in xiateng, the relevant departments moved it to the south for about 60 meters and built it as it was. In addition to maintaining the original architectural style of the Ming Dynasty, they also replaced the original cement floor with old stone slabs and bricks to make it more perfect. In addition, there are octagonal pavilions and private gardens that have been moved from the original site. They not only maintain the historical style of the ancient buildings, but also are better than the original buildings. The new museum was built in early 2004 and opened to the public on June 25, 2004. In December 2009, the ancestral hall was upgraded to the seventh batch of provincial cultural relics protection units.
The memorial hall faces east and West, with three entrances in front and back. The main building is three rooms wide and four rooms deep. The building covers an area of 753.79 square meters. On the front is a gate wall of a archway, with a straight stone plaque, regular script "Cai Zhonghui ancestral hall" and a horizontal plaque "Cai ancestral hall". There is a pair of stone drums at the main gate. The gate is painted red and bright. The fire wall is sealed with saddle. In the memorial hall, from west to East, there are the first entrance to the ancestral hall (front hall), the second entrance to the worship Pavilion and the memorial hall, and the third entrance to the Council hall. Each entrance has an ambulatory. The hall is three rooms wide and seven columns deep. It has a wooden frame with single eaves and double slopes. It has a stone patio and a brick floor. The museum has now become an important youth moral education base in Cangshan District and Fuzhou City.
