General situation of karst cave
Stalactite type
There are many kinds of chemical sediments, from macro to micro, from carbonate to sulfate, including the sedimentary characteristics of nearly 30 kinds of caves in the world. Among them, there are 15 meters wide and 21 meters high stone waterfall and stone curtain, brown Tung shaped stalagmites as smooth as jade, curly stones and stone flowers as bright as stars, which are rare in China for their large quantity, beautiful shape, clean texture and wide distribution.
The red coral and canine calcite crystals in the water purification basin are extremely precious. There are a large number of secondary chemical deposition forms, which constitute a variety of landscapes.
The main scenic spots in the cave include Jinluan hall, Leifeng Pagoda, jade pillar, jade forest flower, dog tooth crystal flower, thousand year kiss, animal kingdom, Dragon Palace, giant waterfall, Shitian pearl, reproductive pillar, coral pond, etc. When you visit Furong cave, you can feel the magic of nature.
How to form
(speleothems, i.e. stalactites, in Furong cave there are two chemical types of carbonate rock and sulphate rock), which are rich and colorful, including almost all the sedimentary types of stalactites, up to more than 70 kinds. For example: stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains (small ones are stone curtains), stone waterfalls, stone flags, stone belts, stone shields, stone grapes, coral crystal flowers, etc. Its mineral composition is mainly calcite and gypsum, as well as aragonite and hydromagnesite. Most of them are rare in China, and some of them are rare in China and the world.
More than 70 kinds of secondary chemical sediments constitute a rich landscape, which is magnificent, exquisite, gorgeous and wonderful. Professor Zhu Xuewen, President of China Cave Research Association, commented: "Furong cave is a splendid underground art palace." Experts from the cave Association of Australia praised "the beautiful palm shaped stalagmites, red coral pool and gypsum flowers in Furong cave are all special scenery in the world". Andi, director of the world cave Association, called it "one of the best caves in the world.". In 1994, Furong cave was rated as the first of more than 100 caves in China. It is known as the "king of caves" and the most beautiful underground landscape. It not only has high tourism value and aesthetic value, but also has great research value in a series of scientific fields such as stratigraphy, mineralogy, geomorphology, hydrology, geochemistry, biology, fourth geology, paleoclimatology and paleoenvironment, archaeology, etc.
Furong cave
It is divided into three major scenic spots. The first scenic spot is mainly colorful and high-profile, while the second and third scenic spots focus on science and restoring nature. There are more than 30 scenic spots in the cave. Among them, there are more than 10 Super scenic spots at home and abroad, especially the giant stone waterfall with a width of 15.76 meters and a height of 21.04 meters; the coral Yao pool with an area of 32 square meters and a water depth of 0.8 meters, which is in the period of vigorous growth; the "source of life" with a length of 120 cm and a circumference of 124 cm; the king of vigorous growth of stone flowers; there is no one in the world Some of them are rare cave landscapes in the world.
After more than 10 years of long-term exploration and scientific research by more than 20 scientists in the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria, Canada and the middle class, it is confirmed that Furong cave is not only a large-scale cave with high tourism and scientific research value, but also a huge cave group consisting of a large number of shafts and caves around it, Furong cave group, which makes it similar to the Mammoth Cave in the United States and the Krams cave in France ”It is also known as the three largest caves in the world.
In 1996, Furong cave began to apply for world natural heritage. In 2004, it was included in the list of nominated places for World Heritage application.
Composition of Furong cave
It is composed of tongqikeng cave, Huren cave, weijiangling cave, Dongba cave, xinlukou cave, shuilian cave, Furong cave, gangangue cave and Sifang cave. The vertical cave represented by qikeng cave is a paradise for cave exploration enthusiasts and explorers, while the horizontal cave represented by Furong cave is the best place for tourists. The cave is large in scale, with various and rich secondary physical-chemical sediments, various cave dissolution forms, spectacular collapse accumulation, numerous stalactites, ponds in different situations at present, falling and destruction of stalactites, etc., all of which record its vicissitudes and historical evolution In terms of scientific research and popularization, Furong cave can be called "a cave Science Museum".
Review history
In May 1993, Furong cave was accidentally discovered by six local villagers in Jiangkou Town, Wulong county. The local county Party committee and county government attached great importance to it and concentrated manpower, material and financial resources to develop it at a high starting point, high standard and high level.
In August 1994, the Sino British and American joint exploration team conducted a scientific investigation on the huge cave group of blackmail cave. After inspecting Furong cave, Mr. Andy, vice president of international cave Association and leader of Sino British joint exploration team, commented that "Furong cave is the best tourist cave in China and one of the best tourist caves in the world". Professor Zhu Xuewen, President of Cave Research Association of Chinese Geological Society and leader of Chinese team, inspected Furong cave The post evaluation of Furong cave "Furong cave is a splendid underground art palace and a cave science museum with rich contents".
In August 1996, the Sino British joint exploration team conducted another scientific investigation on Furong cave group in Wulong. This investigation made great progress. Furong cave is a huge cave group, which has been preliminarily explored. The team has gone through all kinds of hardships and failed to find the natural exit of Furong cave. Due to the limitation of facilities and equipment, the Sino British joint exploration team made a second scientific investigation on Furong cave group It also failed to get scientific research results.
On June 15, 2001, entrusted by Mr. andI, Deputy Secretary General of the international cave Association, the Sino British and American joint expedition team organized powerful Chen Rong and advanced scientific research equipment to conduct a one month scientific investigation of Furong cave group in Wulong for the third time. Mr. Brown Judd, leader of the expedition team, disclosed at a press conference that the investigation of Furong cave group will surely be successful Detect the imaginary result.
On June 15, 2001, a 19 member Sino British and American joint expedition team entered the Furong cave group scientific research base (Tianxing Township, Wulong County). From June 16, they officially carried out a scientific investigation on the huge cave group in Furong cave within a radius of about 100 square kilometers. After nearly five days of hard exploration, the huge underground river system of Furong cave group is scattered all over the world. It has been preliminarily proved that "daxiaodong", one of the Furong cave groups, is probably one of the deepest caves found in China. The underground water system of Furong cave group is crisscross
