Historical evolution

Guilin Industrial Economic Management School

In September 1978, the Party group of the former seventh Ministry of mechanical industry of the people's Republic of China decided to establish a school in Guilin, Guangxi to train professional and technical personnel for the aerospace industry, and to start the construction work in the former site of the Vietnam military academy.

In January 1979, Guilin industrial economic management school, the predecessor of the school, was officially established, which was subordinate to the former seventh Ministry of machinery industry of the people's Republic of China. General Zhang Aiping, the former Minister of national defense of the people's Republic of China, inscribed the name of the school.

In March 1981, the school changed its name to Guilin industrial management school.

In May 1982, the seventh Ministry of mechanical industry of the people's Republic of China was renamed the Ministry of aerospace industry of the people's Republic of China, and the school was transferred to the former Ministry of aerospace industry of the people's Republic of China.

In August 1984, the school changed its name to Guilin aerospace industry management school.

In April 1988, the Ministry of aerospace industry of the people's Republic of China and the Ministry of aviation industry of the people's Republic of China merged to form the Ministry of aerospace industry of the people's Republic of China, and the school transferred to the former Ministry of aerospace industry of the people's Republic of China.

In March 1993, due to the cancellation of the Ministry of Aeronautics and Astronautics of the people's Republic of China, the University transferred to China Aerospace Industry Corporation.

Guilin College of Aerospace Technology

In February 1994, the University was upgraded and renamed Guilin aerospace industry college.

In April 1999, the school was transferred to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to implement the management system of "central and local co construction, with local management as the main".

 

 

In 2011, with the approval of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Laibin campus was officially established.

 

Guilin Institute of Aerospace Technology

On March 29, 2012, the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China officially approved the upgrading of Guilin aerospace industry college to Guilin Aerospace Industry College; on April 27 of the same year, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the upgrading of Guilin aerospace industry college to Guilin aerospace industry college.

 

In December 2015, the University was added as an authorized unit for bachelor's degree by the academic degree committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

 

On February 18, 2017, Guilin Institute of aerospace industry established the first UAV Academy in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

 

In March 2018, the University was approved the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, and became the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice project construction university.

 

In October 2019, Guangxi Airlines solemnly held a development conference to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the University.
