Houxianghe Park

Wuhan houxianghe park is located in Hankou railway station, the transportation hub of Wuhan City, on the right side of the city museum, covering an area of 131000 square meters, including 42000 square meters of green space, 46000 square meters of water surface and 43000 square meters of hard cover. The park is a district level urban park with waterfront landscape as its characteristics, and it is also one of the 40 lakes "one lake one landscape" projects in the central urban area.

Before the construction of the park, HouXiang river was completely surrounded by a piece of houses. Domestic sewage was discharged into the lake, and the water quality was extremely poor. In 2005, the municipal government launched the comprehensive treatment project of Houxiang River, demolishing about 40000 square meters of surrounding buildings, revealing lakes and building parks, adding new open space and highlights to the city.

Park positioning provides Wuhan with a modern urban public space with local lakeside cultural characteristics, life charm and green atmosphere. The design of the park emphasizes the combination of the creation of life and the construction of landscape, which endows the park with long-term internal vitality. Based on the full analysis of the existing plots, through the terrain treatment, shoreline combination and the composition of different style scale space, visitors are immersed in the sunshine, space and green. The whole space is filled with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and provides all kinds of urban residents with suitable activity space. It embodies the characteristics of the park with the theme of "natural color, urban stage". In terms of plant configuration, local plants in Wuhan are selected. According to the overall layout of the park, full consideration should be given to the proportion of evergreen trees and deciduous trees; the height of trees, shrubs and ground cover plants should be matched to form a beautiful skyline; the continuation of flowering period of various flowering shrubs, and the mutual contrast and rendering of flower colors.
