Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts

Tianjin Academy of fine arts, located in Tianwei Road on the North Bank of Haihe River in Hebei District of Tianjin city, its predecessor can be traced back to the Beiyang women's normal school founded by Fu Zengxiang, a famous modern Chinese educator and Prime Minister of Tianjin Women's school affairs, on June 13, 1906. It is one of the earliest public universities in China and one of the earliest public women's normal schools in China.

At the same time, Beiyang women's normal school, the predecessor of Tianjin Academy of fine arts, is one of the only six sites of the 1911 Revolution in Tianjin.

Beiyang women's normal school

On June 13, 1906 (April 22, the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), Fu Zengxiang, a modern Chinese educator and Prime Minister of women's school affairs in Tianjin of the Qing Dynasty, founded the Beiyang women's normal school. The school is located at the west entrance of Sancai Li, Sanma Road, Hebei Province, Tianjin. It is the earliest public women's normal school in China.

In 1910, he moved to Tianwei road.

In 1926, when the national art activities were flourishing, the school began to set up the fine arts department from the late division period of the 23rd grade at that time. At the same time, three special classrooms for Western painting, traditional Chinese painting and pattern painting were added. So far, the school had a fine arts major.

Hebei women's Normal University

In June 1929, the associate Department of drawing was established, which was originally attached to the Department of home economics.

In 1934, the picture sub department was changed into an independent sub department. Courses include traditional Chinese painting, Western painting, pattern and skill theory.

Hebei Normal University

In 1949, when new China was founded, the original "women's Normal College of Hebei Province" was renamed "Hebei Normal College". At the beginning of the reconstruction, the college had four departments: the Department of Education (two groups of pedagogy and kindergarten education), the Department of literature and history (two groups of Chinese and History), the Department of music and art (three groups of music, fine arts and Drama) and the Department of physical education.

In 1951, the summer music and art department was divided into fine arts and music departments.

Merger development

Hebei Tianjin Normal University

In August 1956, the five departments of mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography and physical education of Hebei Normal University moved to Shijiazhuang and established Shijiazhuang Normal University. He stayed in Tianjin and formed Tianjin Normal University.

Hebei art Normal University

In 1958, the Chinese and history departments moved to Beijing and merged into Beijing Normal University in Hebei Province; the education, foreign language and political education departments merged into Tianjin Normal University.

Hebei Academy of Fine Arts

In 1959, based on the Department of fine arts, Hebei Academy of fine arts was expanded into a multi-disciplinary Higher Academy of fine arts. The Department of painting includes three majors: oil painting, Chinese painting and print; the Department of Arts and crafts includes two majors: decoration design and dyeing design; the Department of sculpture and the Department of normal education are not divided into other majors. The Central Conservatory of music (studying in Tianjin) was incorporated into Tianjin Conservatory of music.

Hebei art Normal University

In 1962, the former music department, which was merged into Tianjin Conservatory of music, moved back to Tianjin. In 1966, the conservatory was devastated by the cultural revolution.

In September 1970, it was renamed Tianjin May 7th art school and set up four companies of music, fine arts, opera and dance.

In February 1973, it was renamed Tianjin Institute of art. The Department of painting has three majors: Chinese painting, oil painting and print (in addition, there are temporary comic classes and new year painting classes); the Department of Arts and crafts has four majors: decoration design, dyeing and weaving design, industrial modeling design and special arts and crafts design.

Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts

In February 1980, it was named Tianjin Academy of fine arts.

 

On January 19, 2015, the constitution of Tianjin Academy of fine arts was approved by Tianjin Education Committee.
