Huanxiu bridge was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is said that when it was sunny, you could stand on the top of the bridge and look north at the green mountains on the edge of Taihu Lake. Here is a couplet: the boat passes through the green jade ring, and the man steps up the rainbow belt. It describes two ways of crossing the bridge.
Huanxiu bridge connects the Yanyu corridor and the bustling West Street, which is also the only way from the corridor to Shipi lane. Whether it's sunny, rainy or at night, standing on the top of the bridge overlooking the water town, you can see the gray walls and white tiles layer upon layer, two rows of red lanterns hanging high beside the river, and the black awning boats swaying with the waves. It's also a romantic beauty.
Huanxiu Bridge
In ancient times, Fengxian District of Shanghai was a small town called Liugang town. Huanxiu bridge is a part of the ancient town. Beside the bridge, there used to be a garden nunnery. In the nunnery, there is a ginkgo tree of Ming Dynasty, which has been more than 400 years. The ancient nunnery was destroyed in the war and was demolished during the cultural revolution. The Ancient Ginkgo biloba was spared and has been blooming and bearing fruit every year. The arch bridge is 6.7 meters high and 3.44 meters wide, with single hole and 26 steps on one side and 29 steps on the other.

In 1989, the then township government laid concrete pavement and concrete railings on the stone arch bridge, causing damage to cultural relics.
In 2009, Fengxian District government is raising funds to restore the original appearance of Huanxiu bridge in recent years.
