Yuanling Fenghuangshan Forest Park

Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling County is located on the Bank of Yuanshui River in the southeast of Yuanling County. Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling County is 200 meters above sea level. Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling County covers an area of about 0.6 square kilometers. The west of Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling County is adjacent to Yuanshui River in the north, with steep mountain walls and continuous mountains in the southeast. Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling is named "Fenghuang Mountain" because it looks like a phoenix spreading its wings. Fenghuang temple was built at the top of Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling during the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). The ancient trees beside the temple are towering and the environment is quiet. There is a "wind tower" in Xianglu mountain of Nanshan. The tower is 7 stories high and majestic. Along the cliff, there are stone steps, just like ribbons falling down the river. In 1938, patriotic general Zhang Xueliang was put under house arrest by Chiang Kai Shek in Fenghuang Mountain ancient temple of Yuanling for a year, so Fenghuang mountain of Yuanling was known at home and abroad. Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling has deep forests, warm villages, smoke, towering ancient trees on the top of the mountain, and beautiful scenery. In the ninth year of kaihuang reign of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty (589 AD), it was listed as the first scenic spot in Qianzhong county. Zhang Zhiyao, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, said: "the clear peaks are out of the clouds, the wild sutras are winding around the flexure fence, and people go to the green poplar shade and point out the painting across the river.". Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling has more than 30 scenic spots, such as Fenghuang ancient temple, Fenghuang ancient well, Songzi guanyinzhang, fishing pool, stone turtle, xueqiu cave, Qujiang room, Wangjiang tower, Fengming tower, Xucheng tomb, mizishan, water amusement and river Zhangzhou island. Once upon a time, Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling was destroyed after several ups and downs. After liberation, Fenghuangshan provincial government of Yuanling was listed as a key protection unit, and the state allocated special funds for restoration and reconstruction. Now Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling receives Chinese and foreign tourists with a brand new style.

Because of the strange mountain and beautiful scenery, Yuanling is the most famous ancient eight scenic spots in Yuanling. It is a famous mountain resort for sightseeing and leisure. There is Fengming in the mountain, and the famous pagoda temple also leads Fenghuang to live and practice, so it is named Fenghuang mountain.

Park Landscape

Fenghuangshan Forest Park has 16 scenic spots, among which Fenghuang temple, the main scenic spot, was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is composed of Daxiong hall, Tianwang hall, Songzi hall, Mituo Pavilion, Guanyin hall, yuhuanglou and other ancient buildings. Religious activities radiate to the west of Hunan Province. There are many pilgrims and incense in the temple for many years. The Fengming tower, which echoes with it, is known to Chenzhou during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty Mao yunrang advocated the construction of the mansion. The tower is 25 meters high, with seven levels and eight directions. It is magnificent, forming a "three towers and one line" spectacle with Longyin tower and Luming tower. General Zhang Xueliang was imprisoned here for 20 months for launching the "Xi'an Incident" which shocked China and foreign countries. The poem "the distant blue sky, the long journey of my old friend, the young people gradually grow old, only the spring breeze returns now" has attracted many people with lofty ideals, tourists at home and abroad, looking for the footprints of the young commander and visiting the famous Phoenix Mountain. As a result, the value of Fenghuang Mountain has doubled and it is well-known both at home and abroad. It was approved as a provincial scenic spot by the provincial people's Government in 1993 and a provincial forest park by the provincial people's Government in 1997. In 2002, it was approved by the provincial people's government as a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. In 2003, it was rated as a national 3A tourist area. In order to further implement the scientific concept of development, the county Party committee and the county government put forward the development strategy of accelerating the industrialization of tourism, and strive to build Fenghuang mountain into an urban park and a national 4A scenic spot.
