Houtian desert ecotourism scenic spot

Houtian desert is located in Houtian Township, Xinjian County, Jiangxi Province, 30 kilometers away from Nanchang City, covering an area of about 280 hectares. This undulating sand dune is the alluvium of the former Ganjiang River. The two sides of the river are uplifted due to the downcutting of the Ganjiang River. Under the action of wind erosion, transportation and accumulation, the present desert landscape was finally formed. In the southeastern edge of the desert, there are crescent shaped lakes. In the shelter of sand dunes, there are well preserved primitive plant communities, and there are many kinds of birds and small animals.

Moon Island: "Moon Island" is a moon shaped island in Ganjiang River. Ganjiang River flows through here and meets Jinjiang River, forming a river bay closely surrounding Yueliang Island, which is the origin of the name of Yueliang Bay scenic spot. When we look at Moon Island from a high place, we may feel that its area is not very large. In fact, it has more than 600 mu. When we stand in the middle of the island, step on the grassland like a green carpet, and enjoy the natural pasture of "the sky is vast, the wild is vast, the wind blows grass, and the cattle and sheep are low", we can't help but feel immersed in poetry. Friends who like riding horses can also rent a horse on the island , ride it and enjoy the grassland horse racing.

Taihezhai animal entertainment center: the center was built during the golden week of November 2003 and has received more than 10000 Chinese and foreign tourists since its opening. The center is mainly engaged in famous dog exhibition, dog fighting performance, dog running and other projects. The famous dog exhibition area is a collection of hundreds of purebred and famous ornamental dogs at home and abroad. Dog fighting originated from the animal fighting performance in ancient Rome. It is very popular in Southeast Asia and Macao Special Administrative Region. The two strong fighting dogs are biting and fighting with each other, which embodies the spirit of striving for the first. Running dog is very popular in Macao Special Administrative Region. The purpose of introducing this project is to let people enjoy the fun of running dog in Macao without going across the ocean.

Shaquan convalescent area: shaquan is a natural spring in the scenic area. It is a trickle and never stops all year round. The spring is clear and sweet. Behind the sand spring is a dense native forest. After thousands of years of wind and rain, these ancient trees record the change of the thick field from the former oasis with rich water and grass to the present desert. The sand spring has been nurturing the nearby villagers for generations, living and farming on it. It is said that this is a fountain given to Houtian people by Lord long to reduce the harm caused by jiulongzi to local people. Sand spring water is warm in winter and cool in summer. It contains a variety of minerals beneficial to human health.

Youth outdoor activity base: completed in early 2004. Covering an area of 4000 square meters, the base has more than 10 outdoor expansion activities, including beach football, beach volleyball and fun bridge, tower drop, tug of war, dragon jump, back platform fall, escape wall, navigation model, aviation model, etc., which meet the national standards. The picnics barbecue Park and outdoor camping area have the ability to receive more than 500 teams at the same time.

Western style leisure park: the western style leisure park is jointly constructed by Houtian desert ecotourism scenic spot and Ningxia Tourism Association. Tourists can enjoy the Western folk customs in the yurt camp, and taste the authentic roast whole sheep.
