Dalian University for nationalities is located in Dalian City on the coast of the Yellow Sea. It is subordinate to the National Ethnic Affairs Committee. It is the only comprehensive ethnic university with engineering and applied disciplines as the main characteristics, which is located in the northeast and coastal open areas. The school was established in 1984 and jointly built by the State Commission for democracy and people's livelihood, Liaoning provincial government and Dalian municipal government in 2006.
