Introduction: Wuhan University of technology was founded in June 1972, formerly known as Hubei Institute of chemical industry and petroleum, under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province. In March 1980, with the approval of the Ministry of education, it was renamed as Wuhan Institute of chemical technology, which was in charge of the former Ministry of chemical industry. In July 1998, with the adjustment of the university management system, the University was transferred to Hubei Province for management. The central and local governments jointly built the University, with Hubei Province as the main management.
