A Better Tomorrow

"Heroes" is a gunfight movie invested and shot by New Art City Film Co., Ltd., directed by John Woo, starring Dilong, Zhang Guorong and Zhou Runfa.

The film tells about the love between Song Zihao, mark and song Zijie, as well as the frustration, failure, confession and revenge of the three protagonists. The film was released in Hong Kong on August 2, 1986. It was the box office champion of Hong Kong. In 1987, the film won the best film and best actor awards at the 6th Hong Kong Film Awards.

Synopsis

Song Zihao (Dilong) and mark (Chow Yun fat) are important figures in an international counterfeit group, as well as close friends. Song Zihao's younger brother song Zijie (Zhang Guorong) has just been admitted to the police officer school. His girlfriend Zhong Rou (Zhu Baoyi) is smart and has deep love for him. Once, song Zihao took his subordinate Tan Cheng to Taipei to trade counterfeit banknotes with local gangs. Unexpectedly, Tan Cheng has already colluded with the Taipei Mafia and betrayed Zihao.

Song Zihao was injured in a gunfight, and was arrested and jailed by the police. When Mark learned that song Zihao was arrested, he went to Taipei alone to kill the gang leader. He was also seriously injured and fled the scene with difficulty. At the same time, the Taiwan Mafia, fearing that Zihao would leak secrets to the police in prison, sent people to Hong Kong to kidnap Zihao's father, who died in the scuffle. Song Zihao's younger brother, Zi Jiezhi, was the leader of the counterfeit banknote group, for which his father died, so he hated Zihao and the underworld to the bone and decided to get rid of the bad. Three years later, song Zihao returned to Hong Kong from prison and decided to abandon the secret to the open, but he was not forgiven by song Zijie.

Tan Cheng, who betrayed song Zihao at that time, has become the boss. He hypocritically asked song Zihao to cooperate, but was refused, so he designed to harm song Zijie. Song Zihao couldn't bear it, so he combined with mark to steal Tan Cheng's computer floppy disk, which was used to make counterfeit banknotes, and then gave it to song Zijie. But at the same time, he pretended to trade with Tan Cheng on a floppy disk and planned to capture Tan Cheng alive. Unexpectedly, Tan Cheng was ready for a gun fight at the dock. At this time, song Zijie also came by car, and mark died in the fierce battle. The police swarmed in and surrounded the dock. In order not to implicate song Zijie, after shooting Tan Cheng, song Zihao takes off handcuffs from Song Zijie and turns himself in to the police. The two brothers finally made up.
