Founded in 1920, Harbin Institute of technology, subordinate to the Ministry of industry and information technology, is a national key university focusing on science and engineering, with coordinated development of science, engineering, management, arts, economics, law and other disciplines. In the rendezvous and docking mission between Tiangong-1 target aircraft and Shenzhou series spacecraft, the school has provided more than 20 technical support. To this end, the university has won the honorary title of "outstanding contribution collective of China's manned space project", and is the only university unit in China.

Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), jointly organized by Harbin Institute of technology and Shenzhen municipal government, is an important campus of Harbin Institute of technology. It is the first member of China nine University Alliance (C9) and a national "985 Project" and "211 Project" university to enter Shenzhen to recruit undergraduates. The predecessor of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) is the Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology, which was founded in 2002.

Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), with full-time undergraduate and postgraduate education as the main and part-time education as the auxiliary, is an important part of "one university, three districts" of Harbin Institute of technology and an important force in building a world-class university. It is an important member of Shenzhen's higher education system and a new force in building a first-class innovative city.

Background

In May 2001, the Shenzhen municipal government and Harbin Institute of technology signed an agreement on running a school in cooperation with Harbin Institute of technology to build "Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology".

In February 2002, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the "Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology" to enter the Shenzhen university town together with the Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University and the Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University.

In May 2014, the Ministry of Education approved the Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology to organize undergraduate education. Shenzhen municipal government and Harbin Institute of technology have signed a new agreement on cooperation in running schools. On the basis of Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology, it is preparing to build a "Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen)" with complete undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education system.

In September 2015, the preparatory office and temporary Party committee of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) were established one after another, and the preparatory work of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) was comprehensively and rapidly promoted.

In 2016, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) recruited the first batch of undergraduates relying on its headquarters.

In 2018, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) will recruit undergraduates with independent enrollment code.

Basic information

As the predecessor of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Shenzhen Graduate School of Harbin Institute of technology always aims at selecting excellent and top-notch talents and improving the overall quality of students.
