Founded in 1936, China Pharmaceutical University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of education and a key university under the national "211 Project". China Pharmaceutical University is the first independent Pharmaceutical University in China. After nearly 70 years of hard work and forge ahead, the university has developed into a multi-disciplinary university characterized by pharmacy, coordinated development of science, engineering, economics, management, arts and other disciplines, and multi-level education of college, undergraduate, master, doctor, etc. The main campus is located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, which is composed of Xuanwumen campus, Yanziji campus and Zhenjiang campus. Xuanwumen campus focuses on postgraduate education, which is located by the picturesque Xuanwu Lake, with sparse flowers and green grass; Yanziji campus focuses on undergraduate education, which is located at the foot of Yanziji, which is close to the Yangtze River in the north. Approved in July 2003, the school acquired 2439 mu of land to build a new campus in Jiangning, with a designed building area of 680000 square meters. At present, the school covers an area of 610 mu, with a construction area of 270000 square meters. There are more than 1380 graduate students (about 1 / 3 of them are doctoral students), more than 7500 full-time college students and more than 13000 adult education students. The school has a strong faculty and a large number of pharmaceutical experts and professors. At present, there are more than 1400 teaching staff and 610 full-time teachers, including one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and one academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering. 40% of them have senior professional titles, 45% have master's degree or above, and 51 teachers enjoy special government subsidies. There are 23 doctoral programs, among which pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy and pharmaceutics are the national key disciplines, modern Chinese medicine and natural pharmacology are the most important disciplines in Jiangsu Province; there are pharmaceutical postdoctoral mobile stations, 14 disciplines can recruit postdoctoral researchers; there are 26 master programs; there are 18 undergraduate majors and 5 junior college (Higher Vocational) majors. The university is the only base designated by the Ministry of education to receive foreign students, advanced students and senior visiting scholars in pharmacy. It is also one of the designated universities approved by the Ministry of education to accept students from overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The total employment rate of graduates in 2004 is 99.54%, among which the employment rate of graduate students is 100%, the employment rate of undergraduate students is 99.82%, and the employment rate of junior college students is 98.10%. Based on the international frontier, the University's scientific research gives full play to the advantages of complete disciplines of pharmacy and traditional Chinese medicine, promotes the interdisciplinary and penetration of disciplines, and significantly improves the ability of scientific and technological innovation.
