Hebei Engineering University is a key backbone University in Hebei Province. The people's Government of Hebei Province and the Ministry of water resources jointly construct the University. Hebei Province is a two-level University of "national first-class university construction". It is located in Handan, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the "capital of Idioms and allusions" in China.

The school has excellent conditions and beautiful campus environment. Now it covers a total area of 2069 mu, with a building area of more than 900000 square meters. The new campus covering an area of 4098 Mu is under construction. At present, there are 2158 teaching staff, 846 personnel above Deputy vocational college, 1544 full-time teachers and 362 teachers with doctor's degree. At present, there are 1607 full-time doctoral and master's degree students, 30538 ordinary undergraduates (including 7865 independent colleges) and 120 foreign students. It is equipped with modern laboratories for teaching and scientific research, academic exchange centers, stadiums and student activity centers. There are 10 Gigabit optical fiber backbone, Gigabit to desktop campus network and wireless coverage network. The Affiliated Hospital of the school is a Class-A general hospital, the affiliated Architectural Design Institute is a Class-A qualified Design Institute, and the affiliated school is an independent unit set up and funded separately by the provincial office and approved by the Provincial Department of finance.

The school has complete disciplines and distinct engineering features. There are 11 university disciplines, such as engineering, science, management, agriculture, medicine, literature, economics, law, art, education and history. Now it has 17 colleges, 1 Independent College (Science and Information College of Hebei University of Technology), 2 teaching departments and 82 undergraduate majors. It has a doctoral talent training project serving the special needs of the country -- water resources and water environment regulation and comprehensive management. Especially in the domestic selection activities of the Asia Pacific University robot competition, our university team has entered the top eight in China for two consecutive years and won the "first prize of 2012 Asia Pacific University robot competition domestic selection activities". In 2015, with the strong support of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, the Municipal University jointly launched the new campus construction project. The new campus (including the College of science and information technology of Hebei University of Technology) is located in the east of Handan City, covering an area of 4098 mu (net area of 3616 mu), with a planned total construction area of 973100 square meters. The project is constructed in two phases, with a construction area of 766500 square meters in the first phase and a total investment of 4.325 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed and put into use in August 2018. The teaching staff residential district is located in the southeast of the school, covering an area of 690.9 mu (net area of 499.9 mu), and supporting the construction of affiliated schools and kindergartens.
