Harbin University of science and technology was established in 1995 by the merger of Harbin University of science and technology, Harbin Institute of electrical engineering and Harbin Institute of technology under the former Ministry of mechanical industry. In 1998, it was transferred to Heilongjiang Province to implement the central and local co construction and local based management system. In 2008, it was identified as the key construction in the construction plan of Heilongjiang Province as a strong province of higher education One of the top ten universities. The three schools were founded in the 1950s. After more than 60 years of development, the school has become a teaching and research-oriented university with strong school running strength and distinctive characteristics, which focuses on engineering, combines science with engineering, and harmonizes the development of economics, management, philosophy, literature, law, education, art and other disciplines. In 2003, he was awarded "excellent school of undergraduate teaching evaluation" by the Ministry of education. The school has four school districts, including three in the East, West and south of Harbin City, and the Rongcheng campus of Harbin University of science and technology in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. The school covers a total area of 2.11 million square meters, teaching infrastructure area of more than 900000 square meters. The library has a collection of 2.37 million books, over 6000gb e-books, 150000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and 30 kinds of literature databases. At present, there are 3017 teaching staff, including 1632 full-time teachers, 832 personnel above Deputy Vocational College and 1 academician of Chinese Academy of engineering. The university has 20 colleges, 1 teaching department and 1 teaching practice center, 59 undergraduate majors, 11 junior college majors, 8 national first class characteristic majors, 3 national pilot majors of "excellent engineer education and training plan", 19 provincial key majors, 6 first class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 21 second class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree and 21 first class disciplines authorized by master degree There are 89 secondary disciplines authorized by master's degree, 4 categories authorized by professional master's degree and 18 fields authorized by engineering master's degree. There are 7 disciplines including electrical engineering, instrument science and technology, material science and engineering, mechanical engineering, management science and engineering, business administration, computer science and technology, with postdoctoral research stations. High voltage and insulation technology is a national key discipline, and there are 10 provincial key disciplines. There are 1 Key Laboratory of the Ministry of education, 1 Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of education, and 11 provincial and ministerial key laboratories (engineering centers). There are four kinds of public journals: Journal of electrical machinery and control, Journal of Harbin University of science and technology, science and technology and management, and Research on Ideological and political education. Among them, Journal of electrical machinery and control is included in eicompendex (core) database, national Chinese core journal, and excellent science and Technology Journal of Chinese universities; Journal of Harbin University of science and technology is national Chinese core journal (2008 Edition), China's science and technology core journal; science and technology and management is RCCSE China's core academic journal and China's university characteristic science and technology journal; research on Ideological and political education is China's humanities and Social Sciences core journal, RCCSE China's authoritative academic journal, CSSCI (2014-2015) extended edition source journal and national top 100 social science journals.
