Gansu Vocational College of architecture is the only higher vocational college of architecture in Gansu Province. Founded in 1958, Gansu construction engineering school, Gansu construction workers Engineering College, and Gansu construction workers secondary vocational school were merged into Gansu Construction Vocational and technical college with the approval of Gansu Provincial Government in 2001. By the end of 2004, the whole construction system was transferred to the Provincial Department of construction for management, and became a public owned institution school. The college is based on full-time higher vocational education, with adult higher education, on-the-job training, vocational skills training and other forms of school running. There are 6570 full-time students, more than 8500 continuing education, various training and skill appraisal personnel, and the comprehensive scale of school running is more than 10000. At present, there are six teaching departments, namely, Department of construction engineering, Department of transportation engineering, Department of architecture, Department of environment and municipal engineering, Department of building economy and management, and Department of basic courses. With the advantages of civil engineering, and with the characteristics of construction engineering technology, engineering cost, Road and bridge engineering technology, heating and ventilation and air conditioning engineering technology, and engineering measurement technology, it has formed the major of civil engineering, transportation, surveying and mapping It is a professional pattern of coordinated development of 27 majors in seven categories, including manufacturing, environmental protection and safety, finance and economics, and electronic information. The college is located in Qilihe district of Lanzhou City, covering an area of 248 Mu and a building area of 138000 square meters. The library has a collection of more than 297900 books and 388gb e-books. It has built more than 20 on campus laboratories and simulation training rooms, including 2 large-scale university enterprise cooperation laboratories. It has established more than 80 long-term stable off campus practice training bases and more than 200 practice sites. At present, the construction of the new campus is in full swing.
