[plant morphology] Mentha rotundifolia
Perennial herbs, up to 60-70 cm in height, sparsely covered with short hairs. Rhizomes spread underground. Stem tetrabranched, slender, erect or oblique, slightly branched. Single leaf opposite; elliptic or ovate oblong, leaf blade up to 3-10 cm long, margin serrate, both sides sparsely short hairy, base nearly heart-shaped or obtuse; sessile or nearly sessile. The inflorescence is terminal, the florets are arranged in whorls on the rachis, the order length can reach 5-10 turns meters; the calyx is 5-toothed, covered with short hairs; the Corolla is 4-lobed, white or light red; the stamens are 4, the filaments protrude from the corolla; the ovary is 4-lobed. Nutlets ovoid with smooth surface. The flowering period is July.
