Vines, 1-2 m long, perennial. The root is cylindrical, yellowish brown, with pungent aroma, leaves alternate, oval lanceolate, 6-10 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base heart-shaped, all green, dark green above, white green below, hairy; petiole thin, hairy. Flowers solitary in leaf axils, pedicel slender; perianth tube curved, mouth everted, purple, 5-lobed, yellow inside, light green outside. Capsule pear shaped, apex rounded, base tapering. The seeds are numerous. It blooms in early summer.
It grows under the forest or bush on the hillside. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
