[plant morphology] Medicago sativa L

Herbs annual or perennial. Stem 30-60 cm high, prostrate or oblique, hairy or glabrous. 3-pinnate leaflets; leaflets obovate or broadly elliptic, 0.7-2 cm long, apex obtuse, emarginate, base broadly cuneate, upper part denticulate, with white hairs on both sides; stipules obliquely ovate, 5-12 mm long. Flowers 10-15, densely integrated into a head, axillary; pedicel 1-3 cm long, glandular hairy; flowers butterfly shaped, calyx short, calyx teeth long; corolla yellow, 1.5-2 mm long; stamens 9-1; style needle shaped. Pods curved, kidney shaped, about 2 mm long, spinless, later black, longitudinally striated, containing 1 seed. The seeds are yellowish brown.

It grows everywhere.
