Li Kanghua

Li Kanghua (July 1953 ~ March 25, 2020), born in Leiyang, Hunan Province, is a professor, chief physician, doctoral supervisor and postdoctoral supervisor of orthopedics in Xiangya Hospital of Central South University.

At 9:26 on March 25, 2020, Professor Li Kanghua died at the age of 67.

Main achievements

For more than 30 years, he has always been praised as "excellent orthopedic worker" for "focusing on the interests of the patients and the patients". Over the years, more than 40 new medical technologies have been developed, self-developed internal fixation instruments for limb fractures have been successfully applied in clinical practice, the first allogeneic joint bank and allogeneic tendon bank in Hunan Province have been established, and the first "allogeneic half joint transplantation" in Hunan Province has been carried out. He is also one of the earliest experts to carry out "lumbar disc replacement" in China, and has made a special program on this in CCTV. For the first time, he has carried out the operation of simultaneous replacement of three lumbar disc prostheses in Asia. Artificial cervical disc replacement was carried out earlier in China. In the past five years, he has presided over and participated in 17 scientific research projects, including projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and national "863" projects, published more than 150 academic papers, won 10 awards such as scientific and technological achievement awards, and has 5 national patents. Ten academic monographs have been edited / translated. We have trained 36 doctoral students, 24 master students, and one postdoctoral student. Our main tasks are: 1. Diagnosis and treatment of bone, joint and spinal diseases. Artificial joint replacement surgery, especially complex artificial joint replacement and revision surgery (treatment of osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, joint lesions, joint deformities, femoral head necrosis and femoral neck fracture nonunion and primary replacement failure cases). 2. Surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniation, spinal fracture and cervical spondylosis.

At present, he is deputy director of Department of surgery, Department of orthopedics, Department of sports medicine, deputy director of Department of orthopedics of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, deputy leader of Hunan minimally invasive orthopedics expert cooperation group, member of Hunan surgery committee, member of Hunan repair and reconstruction Committee, editor in chief of Chinese Journal of minimally invasive and orthopedics, executive editor in chief of Chinese medical engineering, member of Chinese Journal of minimally invasive and orthopedics Editorial board members of the Journal of repair and reconstruction surgery, Chinese Journal of modern surgery, Chinese Journal of endoscopy, Chinese Journal of clinical orthopedics, American Chinese Journal of orthopedics, Chinese Journal of clinical medicine, etc.
