King Ding of Zhou Dynasty
Wang Ding of Zhou Dynasty? In the spring and Autumn period, the king of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Ji's surname is Yu. The son of King Zhou Qing and the younger brother of King Zhou Kuang. From 606 BC to 586 BC, he was in power for 21 years.
When King Ding ascended the throne, the great vassal states had no respect for the Zhou Dynasty and the emperor, and the central power continued to weaken. During the reign of King Ding of Zhou Dynasty, King Zhuang of Chu, the spring and Autumn Period overlord at that time, had a military parade near Luoyi, the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. He also inquired about the weight of the nine tripods in the imperial palace of the ministers of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, implying that he had already had the ambition to become king on behalf of the Zhou Dynasty. After hearing the news, King Ding hastily sent his ministers to comfort King Zhuang of Chu.
In 594 B.C., when Chu Wei Song Dynasty was in the 13th year of King Ding, the tragedy of "changing sons to eat" was caused, which destroyed social production and hindered the development of population. It truly shows that the princes' struggle for hegemony is at the cost of people's lives.
After the collapse of King Ding of Zhou, his son, King Jian of Zhou, Jiyi ascended the throne.
