His father, Chen gengji, was originally from Xinhui, Guangdong Province, where he lived with Liang Qichao; his mother, Wei yuelang, was originally from Panyu, Guangdong Province. When he was young, Chen gengji and his wife wandered in Nanyang, becoming a wealthy rubber merchant and a respectable gentleman. Chen Bijun grew up in a superior family environment and received complete Chinese and English education.
Chen Bijun graduated from the local overseas Chinese primary school at the age of 15, and then entered the local Biru girls' school.
In the year when Chen Bijun entered Biru girls' school, Sun Yat Sen came from Japan to Penang, Malaysia, where he established an alliance branch. Chen Bijun took an active part in the activities of the alliance and showed great patriotic enthusiasm.
The alliance branch has just been established in Malaysia, so it is very necessary to recruit new members. Several old members see that Chen Bijun is enthusiastic and has strong activity ability, so they develop her into a member. Therefore, Chen Bijun became the youngest member of the alliance.
In early 1912, he and Wang Jingwei were married in Shanghai.
After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, the national government moved to Chongqing in 1938. Wang Jingwei and his supporters negotiated the aftermath countermeasures. At this time, Chen Bijun advocated peace with Japan. In December of the same year, Wang Jingwei and his wife fled to Shanghai via Hanoi. In August 1939 (28 years of the Republic of China), Wang Jingwei held the Sixth National Congress of the Chinese Kuomintang, and Chen Bijun was elected standing member of the central supervisory commission. In March 1940, the Nanjing National Government (Wang Jingwei regime) was established.
In March 1940, the puppet government of Wang Jingwei was founded in Nanjing. Wang Jingwei was appointed chairman of the puppet national government, and Chen Bijun finally achieved his wish and became the first lady. In the Wang puppet government, Chen Bijun served as the central supervisory committee, and later as the "political instructor of Guangdong".
On November 10, 1944, Wang Jingwei died in Japan. Wang Jingwei's body was carried back to Nanjing and a funeral was soon held. After the funeral, Chen Bijun returned to Guangdong with a group of cronies. At this time, the puppet governor of Guangdong Province had changed her brother-in-law Chu Minyi, and Chen still wanted to maintain his rule in Guangdong by virtue of this relationship.
On August 14, 1945, the emperor of Japan issued an imperial edict to announce unconditional surrender. Chen Bijun was in constant panic.
About half a month later, the military personnel seized all the valuables that Chen Bijun had with him, escorted Chen and Chu to Nanjing with a military plane, and put them in the detention house at 25 Ninghai Road. Chen Bijun began her life as a prisoner.
On December 6, 1945, the national government promulgated the "Regulations on punishing traitors", which explicitly ordered the provincial high courts or their branches to hear traitors' cases. According to the regulations, anyone who commits one of the 12 crimes of conspiring with the enemy shall be sentenced to death or life imprisonment. Chen Bijun thinks he will die, waiting for the time of his death. On February 16, 1946, Xu Wenqi said to Chen Bijun, "Madam Wang, please prepare in advance and leave Nanjing for Suzhou at 9 am tomorrow."
The next morning, Chen Bijun, Chu Minyi and Chen Gongbo took the prison car to the railway station, took the train to Suzhou, and were detained in the detention center of Jiangsu high court.
After many investigations, the prosecutor of Jiangsu high court charged Chen Bijun with the crime of traitor and listed her five major crimes.
On April 16, 1946, Jiangsu high court tried Chen Bijun. Because she was the first lady of Wang puppet, Suzhou citizens came out of the city. As "Shenbao" reported: the high court is full of pitfalls, fighting to see the number one female traitor.
Sun Honglin, the chief judge, Wei Weiqing, the prosecutor, Shi Meiyu, the judge, Lu Jiarui, and Qin Daoli, the court clerk, attended the meeting.
Chen Bijun refused to plead guilty and started a tit for tat battle with the prosecutor, pointing at Chiang Kai Shek from time to time.
On the afternoon of April 22, the chief justice read out the judgment against Chen Bijun in the court.
In April 1949, Suzhou was liberated. After the PLA took over Suzhou, Chen Bijun was transferred from SHIZIKOU prison to the detention center of the Public Security Bureau. On July 1, after the liberation of Shanghai, Chen was released from Suzhou to Shanghai Tilanqiao prison. At the beginning, Chen Bijun was deeply resistant to the Communist Party of China and the people's government, refusing to admit that he was a traitor.
On May 2, 1959, Chen Bijun was admitted to the hospital again. The doctor diagnosed that he had heart disease, bronchitis and hypertension. Although he tried his best to treat them, he did not get better. On the contrary, he developed lobar pneumonia.
In more than a month, the hospital has done 15 blood tests, 3 X-ray fluoroscopy, 2 ECG, 4 oxygen, 7 serious illness reports for her.
On June 17, 1959, Chen Bijun died in Shanghai Tilanqiao prison hospital at the age of 67.
Chen Bijun's children all went abroad before liberation. She had no immediate relatives in Shanghai. Her body was collected and cremated by her daughter-in-law's younger brother in Shanghai, and her ashes were sent to Guangzhou. The next year, Chen's children in Hong Kong sent people to Guangzhou to claim it.
The following autumn, Chen Bijun's ashes were scattered into the sea near Hong Kong by his children.
