Tian Jian (280-221 B.C.), surnamed GUI, surnamed Tian, also known as Wang Jian of Qi, is the eldest son of King Xiang of Qi and his Empress, and brother Tian Fei. During the Warring States period, the last monarch of Qi was in power from 264 to 221 BC.
Tian Jian had been in power for 44 years. At the beginning of his reign, he was stable because of the support of his mother queen. On the other hand, because of the strategy of long-distance and short-term attack of Qin state, Qi state was able to enjoy peace by winning over Qi State and preferentially attacking Korea, Wei state and Zhao state.
In the later period of Tian Jian's reign, he was extremely fatuous and fell into the stratagem of the Qin state. In 260 years ago, he refused to support Zhao. The six Eastern countries were unable to stop the Qin army's attack. In 221 BC, the Qin army attacked Qi on a large scale, Tian Jian came down, and Qi was destroyed. Tian Jian was exiled to the Communist Party and died of starvation.
Life of the characters
The end of the country
Since the war of Jixi (283 BC), Qi's strength has not been restored. Under the principle of long-distance and close attack, Qin adopted all non military means to strive for the neutrality of Qi, so as to weaken the six countries' anti Qin forces. For the sake of his immediate interests, Qi Jun also adopted a good policy towards Qin, and did not dare to support the other five countries against Qin. Because Wang Jian of Qi "acted as Qin Jin", so "Wang Jian had not been attacked for more than four to ten years" (Shiji · Tian Jingzhong's family). Hou Sheng, the Prime Minister of Qi, paid a lot of money for the state of Qin. He only dreamed of alliance with Qin. He neither joined forces with other countries to fight against Qin, nor strengthened war preparedness in his own country. The king of Qi completely believed the idea of Hou Sheng. It was not until the state of Qin defeated the five states that the king of Qi felt the threat of the state of Qin and hastily gathered his troops in the west to resist the attack of the Qin army. In the 26th year, the king of Qin avoided the main force in the west of Qi for the reason that the state of Qi refused the envoys of Qin to visit Qi. He ordered Wang ben to lead the Qin army to attack Linzi, the capital of Qi, from the south of Yan (now the north of Hebei). Qi's morale was not strong, and he was even more unprepared for Qin's sudden attack from the north. It quickly disintegrated. Qin army captured Linzi, captured King Jian of Qi, and Qi died. The king of Qin set up Qi county (northeast of Zibo City, Shandong Province) and langye county (Xiahe City, southwest of Jiaonan County, Shandong Province).
It's the end of the game
The king of Qin promised the king of Qi a marquis after he surrendered. So the king of Qi came down without fighting and was shut up in a cave in a small forest to starve to death.
