Profile
Huang Guoshu, a Hakka from Taiwan, was born in 1907. Huang Guoshu, who had witnessed the Japanese colonists' wanton oppression of his compatriots since he was a child, sneaked back to the mainland when he was less than 20 years old. As a Chinese student, he entered the 19th artillery section of the Japanese Sergeant school and graduated first, winning the "saber Award". After graduating from the Japanese military academy, Huang Guoshu returned to the mainland to join the Chinese army. Chiang Kai Shek arranged for him to serve in the officers' regiment and Artillery Academy of Huangpu Military Academy.
In 1934, Huang Guoshu was sent to German artillery school for further study, during which he worked hard to study mechanized artillery tactics. For a long time, Huang Guoshu's profound Artillery Tactical attainments spread among the German national defense forces. When he graduated, Hitler personally presented Huang Guoshu with a German army knife and hoped that he would consider teaching in the German artillery school for a few years before returning to China. Therefore, Werner von bromburg, the German war minister, said that he could make an exception to grant the Chinese student the rank of German army captain. However, at that time, Japan pushed China forward step by step, and Huang Guoshu finally gave up the "development opportunity" in Germany and resolutely returned home to participate in the Anti Japanese war.
Soon after returning home, the full-scale Anti Japanese war broke out. Huang Guoshu was appointed as the commander of the 9th artillery regiment, commanding the few Chinese artillery troops to fight against the Japanese army at that time, which made the Japanese elite Tanigaki division understand the strength of Chinese artillery. Huang Guoshu was also known as "one of the three outstanding Chinese artillery". Later, Huang Guoshu successively served as the chief of staff of the 5th army, the brigade commander of the mixed brigade, the commander of the new 13th division and the commander of the new 43rd division. He made great achievements in defending the Yellow River and Western Henan, and gradually became a lieutenant general. In the spring of 1945, the Japanese army concentrated five divisions and three brigades to launch a crazy attack on Western Henan and Northern Hubei. On April 5, Huang Guoshu, who was then the commander of the new 43rd division, led his department to block the Japanese chariots and infantry troops in the pass near chongyangdian. Huang Guoshu gave the order to the two commanders on the front line to "live or die together with the position". In this way, the Japanese army launched seven or eight consecutive charges in one night, but still failed to bite the "hard bone" of the new 43rd division. (compiled by Hou Tao)
