Personal characteristics
As a fierce right back, Paulo Ferreira was one of the first players to be signed from Porto after Jose mussio became the head coach of Chelsea. Like his boss, Ferreira's goal is to win the League trophy for four consecutive seasons, and before that, he has won the Champions League and the UEFA Cup. Paulo Ferreira made nine appearances in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Early in his career, Ferreira played for Portugal in the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championships. In the 2004 European Cup, he started two games (group and final) against Greece, but was replaced by Miguel midway through.
In the past few seasons at Chelsea, the Portuguese has been going downhill. From the beginning of the main force to the bench, he only spent more than one season, and even his mentor, Jose Mourinho, had to abandon him. Instead, he chose Gallas, Graeme, and Belletti. But Ferreira did not give up, still in training and limited competition time appears conscientious, and the long-term replacement has cultivated his versatility and adaptability, in addition to his own work right back, he can play left back and even center back. In the Portuguese national team, Ferreira is only the third right back, behind Bosingwa and Miguel, but Scolari still takes him with him, which is to see his versatility and competition experience. He appeared in the left back position, although there are not many bright spots, but still with his steady basic defense Turkey's right attack, for himself is not the most familiar position: "this position is a completely different challenge for me, but it is not the first time. I am very satisfied with my performance. Of course, the victory of the whole team makes me happy... "
In the 2010 English League Cup, Chelsea lost to Blackburn in penalty shoot out, but Ferreira's goal in 120 minutes equalled the score for a time, making the team see the hope of promotion.
Sports career
Paulo Ferreira was transferred from a Portuguese Club named setubar to Porto in 2002 for 2 million euro. In 2003, Paulo Ferreira won the Portuguese Super League, the Portuguese Cup and the UEFA Cup for Porto. Ferreira won the 2004 Champions League for Porto with excellent defense. In 2004, the new champions of the Premier League signed Paul Ferreira with 13.2 million pounds, becoming the core figure of the Portuguese leader of the club. As a result, in the first two seasons after joining the club, he helped the club win two consecutive Premier League titles: in the first season, he won by breaking the record of points in the Premier League, and in the first two months of the next season, he successfully threw away other opponents to defend the title.
He is one of the best right backs in Europe. As a Portuguese, Ferreira doesn't have the agility of half Latin football. In his seemingly weak body, he completely flows the tactical thinking instilled by Jose. He is more faithful to the execution of Jose's instructions than the German. From another point of view, Jose also regards Ferreira as the most trustworthy player. Just rely on the mediocre resume of Estoril and setubar, how can Ferreira move Porto? Born in setubar, it seems that there is a natural tacit understanding between the two. With the combination of the two, Porto won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League in a dramatic way. Ferreira was also rated as the best right back in Europe in the 03-04 season, reaching a new height of personal honor.
However, the 2004 European Cup almost became Ferreira's Waterloo. He made a serious mistake in the first game against Greece, which made Portugal lose face at home. Coach Scolari abandoned him in a rage. Although Ferreira got the chance to reform in the final, it once again made Greek mythology. After the game, Ferreira's reputation plummeted. When he insisted on bringing him to Stamford Bridge with a record 13.3 million pounds of English full back, the Chelsea fans were puzzled. They suspected Ferreira's name was in vain. Ferreira, who was wearing the Chelsea uniform, was more cautious. He was almost rigid in the defensive area. He didn't cross the minefield, and his assists were near the midline at most. Whether or not his style appeals to the fans, looking at Chelsea's amazing record of only 15 goals in the whole season, Ferreira and his teammates have really changed the fragile defence. A qualified but different Portuguese full back, Ferreira's temperament has many similarities with that of Jose.
National team career
After Porto became famous, Paulo Ferreira became one of the main players of Portugal national team. In fact, he played 27 games for Portugal's Under-21 national team. His excellent skills made Scully a member of the national team by recruiting Paul Ferreira. However, in the 2004 European Cup of nations, Paul Ferreira was temporarily listed as a reserve player due to a serious mistake. Interestingly, Paulo Ferreira played two games in the 2004 European Cup of nations - the opening game and the final, Portugal lost.
Later, Paulo Ferreira attended the 2006 World Cup and won the fourth place for Portugal.
Honorary career
Paul shining on the right has undoubtedly become another luxury of Porto Arsenal. He was a member of Portugal's U-21 national team and made his debut in September 2002 when he won England. Since then, he has won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto in succession. In 2004, he transferred to the Premier League, and won three Premier League titles, four FA Cup titles, two League Cups and two community shield cups. He won the Champions League again in 2012 and the Champions League in 2013. He is low-key and stable, always silently dedicated to the team, "no matter what position I play, but the important thing is the team to win." Ferreira has participated in the 2004 and 2008 European Cup and the 2006 and 2010 World Cup with Portugal.
