Mu Guiying

Mu Guiying is a fictional character in Xiong Damu's novel biography of the Northern Song Dynasty (also known as biography of Yang Jiajiang and romance of Yang Jiajiang) and Ji Zhenlun's novel Romance of Yang Jiafu. Later, Yang Jiajiang's related novels were adapted into drama and TV series, and Mu Guiying became a household name.

Mu Guiying used to be the daughter of Mu Yu in Muke village. It is said that Li Shan's mother taught the art of Magic Arrow and throwing knife. Because he fought with Yang Zongbao and captured him alive before the battle, he married him and was one of the outstanding female generals of the Yang clan. Mu Guiying and Yang Jiajiang fought together on the battlefield and made many achievements. She Taijun was in command at the age of 100, and led twelve widows to the Western Xia Dynasty. Mu Guiying was still in the vanguard seal at middle age. She went deep into the dangerous situation, fought against the generals and won a great victory. Later she was in command of Pingnan. She is a typical heroine image in Chinese popular literature.

Mu Guiying, fan Lihua, Liang Hongyu and Hua Mulan are known as the four heroines.

Life of the characters

First meeting with Yang Zongbao

Mu Guiying was originally the daughter of Mu Yu, the leader of Muke village. After he was born, his mother took Mu Guiying to Lishan to study arts. Finally, Mu Guiying offered dragon subduing wood to save Yang Zongbao.

Meet Wang Lanying by chance

Wang Lanying is the daughter of Wang Huai, King linggong of the northern Han Dynasty. She was betrothed to Yang LIULANG from below, but later Wang and Yang lost contact. Wang Lanying is disappointed and returns. On the way, she meets Mu Guiying who goes down the mountain to Sanguan for Song Dynasty. When Mu Guiying learns the details, she gives Wang Lanying all the silver brought by Muke village. Wang Lanying is grateful.

Mu Guiying moves troops

In the Tianmen array, Yang Yanzhao is trapped by the soul inducing array of the Liao army. The first systematic narration of the story of the female general of Yangmen is the novel Romance of yangjiafu in Ming Dynasty, which is called the new biography of generations of loyal and brave of yangjiafu. In the romance of Yang's family, there is no specific plot about Mu Guiying's death. However, it is clearly mentioned in the chapter of twelve widows' expedition to the West that "Madame Mu was dead while old lady Wei was still alive." The time of Mu Guiying's death should be before this time.
