Character evaluation
Zheng Xiaolong was one of the first pioneers of Chinese TV drama. His TV series "desire" led to the full bloom of Chinese popular life drama; his planned "the story of the Department" created the precedent of sitcom with humorous language; his directed "the story of Zhen Huan" created the style of gongdou drama with rigorous and real details (Sohu, Yantai evening news, Sina, Netease).
Zheng Xiaolong insists on being a civilian director and keeps a warm heart of perceiving life. Although his works are ever-changing in theme, the realistic creative ideas are his constant artistic pursuit. Whether it's "Beijingers in New York", which restores the real living conditions of Chinese overseas, or "golden wedding", which tells the story of 50 years' ups and downs of husband and wife, Zheng Xiaolong's works always keep the temperature of life (sina.com review).
Zheng Xiaolong is a director with profound cultural heritage. He has a wide range of knowledge, and he will analyze some things that few people will analyze in his works. He is very delicate in dealing with the feelings of the characters, and every play he makes has a theme bearing values. He is very strict, strict in the shooting details. However, in his life, he is very kind and sincere, and he is a man of love (Wang Xiaoping, Yangmei, Huang Xuan, Qin Hailu, China Radio and television, northern online review).
