Xi Jinping Meets with Leaders of Major International Economic Organizations

On the morning of December 10, 2024, President Xi Jinping met with the heads of major international economic organizations who came to China to attend the "1+10" dialogue at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi Jinping pointed out that currently, the centennial changes are accelerating and the world is entering a new period of turbulence and transformation, once again at a critical crossroads. Humanity is a community with a shared destiny. Countries are not riding on more than 190 small boats, but on a big ship with a shared destiny. They should view each other's development as opportunities rather than challenges, and treat each other as partners rather than opponents. Let "solidarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit" become the main theme of the times. China is willing to work with major international economic organizations to practice multilateralism, promote international cooperation, support the development of countries in the global South, promote an equal and orderly world multipolarization, inclusive economic globalization, and build a just world for common development.

Xi Jinping introduced the relevant situation of the Third Plenum of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, especially the series of important measures recently introduced by China. Xi Jinping introduced the positive progress made in the past 10 years since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, emphasizing that China is a practical and action oriented country, and solidly promotes the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with the spirit of "nail in the nail", building a bridge for the common development of China and the world. Regarding global economic governance, Xi Jinping emphasized that promoting world economic growth cannot be achieved without effective and proactive global economic governance. Xi Jinping also elaborated on China's consistent principle and position on the development of Sino US relations, emphasizing that China is willing to maintain dialogue, expand cooperation, and manage differences with the US government, promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of Sino US relations, and hope that the US will work towards the same goal as China. The tariff war, trade war, and technology war go against the historical trend and economic laws, and there will be no winner. China will always focus on doing its own things well and resolutely safeguard its sovereignty, security, and development interests.
